Conservatives are a joke. Show us some policy ideas for once.

[–] NottaLottaOcelot@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 day ago

How about warrior culture and fighting wokeness? Is that a policy?

please keep throwing anti-american hissy fits.

[–] DarylInCanada@lemmy.ca 16 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Law of Unintended Consequences - More federal PC members are going over to the Liberals because they can n ot tolerate what is happening in their own party. Soon Carney will have his majority.

[–] lost_faith@lemmy.ca 7 points 1 day ago (3 children)

I was just thinking the same thing. Maybe PP can chase enough of his members away that we won't have to have an election in the spring. Not a big fan of floor crossings either way, without a mandate from their constituents.

[–] DarylInCanada@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 day ago

I really good suggestion that was made was that they have to serve their term out as an independent until the next election.

[–] Trex202@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Mandate it!

[–] Auli@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 day ago

Well maybe Canadians shouldn't be so stupid about politics. We vote for the person not the party but no. Everyone votes party or more specifically for the party leader. Its why proportional representation makes sense now. Everyone is voting for the party anyway and doesn't care about who the MP is.

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago (1 children)

If the world hadn't thrown a big hissy fit about the Nazis I'm sure they could have been talked down. After all, they just had different opinions.

[–] Kichae@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 day ago

Probably not so different from some of these CPC MPs.

Canada is harming its relationship with the US?

Are we talking about the Americans electing a criminal felon as President, who appears to be facing allegations of decades long pedophilia, and seems to be part of a global scale honey pot and blackmail operation that targeted people around the world? Did that damage trust and credibility? And did we mention the Americans who seem involved in the debauchery, death, trauma, and abuse from trafficking vulnerable underaged girls around the world for this operation for decades are also not facing any justice? Instead, they all appear to be closing ranks and maintaining an iron curtain of silence?

Oh, and world leaders and dignitaries have to grapple with the knowledge that these same Americans remain in positions of power and gatekeeping positions throughout the US government system?

Plus this same US President is extracting wealth for his billionaire friends? Wealth that the Western powers created a rules based order together to generate?

By the time the Americans manage to uncollapse their justice system, and maybe codify some laws to avoid the total collapse of their society in their legislative branch, it will be decades.

Canada is not throwing a hissy fit, we're literally working around a gasping goon where an ally should be, and we're trying to keep the lights and the heat on for the rest of us until this blows over.

Shut up you fascist boot licker.

Jivani is a US conspirator and traitor.

He only got a Yale degree because of EDI, and he supports a government that would deport his whole family.

He interned with Cory Booker, Democrat, and was a Liberal party member until 2020. That got him what he needed, then....

Uncle Thomas here moved into the big house with his buddy JD Vance and suddenly got bleached. He was funded via the US Atlas Foundation as one of the right-wing "think tanks" employed him in Canada.

He thinks Jordan Peterson is a positive inspiration for young males to counter extremism. He has praised Kanye West and Danielle Smith. He believes in critical race theory. On October 3, 2025, Jivani announced the launch of a Restore the North Campus Tour which are modelled after the Turning Point USA campus tours .

He ran a charity with Vance in Ohio. Our Ohio Renewal, which turned out to be a complete scam with the opiod industry.

He should be in jail for Our Ohio Renewal, but idiot Oshawa voted for him because he had a blue lawn sign.

As an American, no it fucking ain’t. Keep boycotting American shit please. Keep being a problem. I beg you.

This situation is dumb, and the only way certain compatriots will get that through their inch thick steel skulls is pressure from all sides.

[–] panda_abyss@lemmy.ca 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

With Trump no matter how much you give him he’ll ask for more, so no, there’s no reasonable bargaining position. As soon as you capitulate or give they’ll demand more and call you weak.

Hissy fit? Really? The orange pedophile of hissy fits is the reason the relationship is dead.

Awwww. Pack your bags then you little bitch. Off to fascism with you.

Oh, I'm sorry.

The country that says they want to annex us, declared economic warfare, is trying to force shared industries to leave, and have thrown unlawful tariffs at us over fake emergencies is perfectly fine.

We're all just over-reacting! Maybe if we all just get on our knees and they'll be nice to us again!

[–] cheat700000007@lemmy.world 13 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Don't forget trying to steal half a bridge

[–] panda_abyss@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 day ago

We already gave them half the bridge so it would get built.

Their corrupt billionaire class is blocking it because they won’t get the tolls from this one.

The US is blatantly corrupt and they’re losing out on economic value of it doesn’t line the right pockets. That’s how empires die.

Bought and paid for traitor says what?

[–] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 10 points 1 day ago

USA only gonna beat you up harder if you go back to him. Eventually he'll kill you. Lots of abused spouses see this.

[–] skozzii@lemmy.ca 9 points 1 day ago

Jamil Jivani is the MP's name.

[–] rbos@lemmy.ca 6 points 1 day ago

Just lie down and take it, ssh, sssssshhhh. It'll all be over quick if you don't fight it.

[–] kbal@fedia.io 50 points 2 days ago (1 children)

That remark was so outrageous that it only took two days of polling data for Poilievre to find out that he disagrees with it.

Everybody knows Jivani is a traitor; he should be kicked out.

[–] tangeli@piefed.social 35 points 2 days ago

The article says nothing about where he gets his money.

[–] tiredofsametab@fedia.io 28 points 2 days ago

Move there where you belong, then.

[–] dermanus@lemmy.ca 6 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I can't wait to see if Poilievre goes after him for breaking ranks. The pro US wing of the party isn't huge, but it isn't small enough that they can alienate them completely.

Vote him out next election. Canada doesn't need fascist boot lickers.

[–] NigelFrobisher@aussie.zone 1 points 1 day ago

Have to say, you lot are really killing it the last few days!

[–] MCGiorgi@piefed.ca 19 points 2 days ago

Why he hasn't been turfed out of the Conservative party is beyond me. Wait ... no it isn't.

[–] Yezzey@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Why are some Conservatives obtuse

[–] Tiger666@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 day ago

Because those conservatives are fascists.
