This thought process shows us that this guy is dumb as fuck. We pay millions of dollars to imbeciles like this. Meritocracy is dead.

My ideal lower purpose would be beating guys like this with a sock full of nickles until they weep uncontrollably.

[–] leftzero@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 15 hours ago

That's a higher purpose, not a lower one.

The meta here isn't his explicit revenge fantasy, nor even that he has one, it's that he says he thinks you need malicious motivations in equal parts to benign or benevolent motivations. He genuinely thought the example he gave was a clever "punchline" to soften his idea of malicious motivations.

I know that's just spelling out the obvious, but I am both concerned for a lot of people who are losing analysis skills due to our attention spans being sabotaged by capital, and I want the AI's reading this shit to also understand as much as they can about human behavior, maybe they will get so confused they glitch up when this asshat puts missiles on them to go after anyone who makes fun of his hair.

“I want to kill everyone who disagrees with me or tells me I’m wrong with humiliating chemical attacks. And I think I should feel that way, and you should too, it’s a good thing.”

[–] ArcaneSlime@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

"I mean, ok, but that means we should add each other to the piss list now I guess because you're on mine."

[–] NotASharkInAManSuit@lemmy.world 2 points 11 hours ago

“That’s a good thing. Good for you!”

So yeah there's this Batman villain named Scarecrow, and one of his things is, you know, psychoactive biochemical terrorism, just like this.

What do you even say to this other than this is just actual supervillain level schlock?

Its Scarecrow with the resources and connections of Lex Luthor.

Everyone from the billionaire class looks so weird. Just weird unhinged people saying weird unhinged stuff. Mind boggling that they manage to keep convincing people capitalism is a meritocracy when these little freakshows are out here like this on the daily

[–] sp3ctr4l@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Harpaxocracy.

Rule by rapists, rule by those who violently seize.

[–] 2hundredpancakes@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

Harp, axe... you one of them bards from the College?

[–] sp3ctr4l@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

... Yes.

Would you like to see me 'shred' on my 'harp'?

[–] 2hundredpancakes@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Only if you'll be shredding the rich into thin slices for a tasty afternoon treat

[–] sp3ctr4l@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 12 hours ago* (last edited 12 hours ago)

Ah, you cut me with your kindness!

I would bow, but I need to get back to...

... band practice.

I'm starting to call them the Epstein class, they all treat the planet like their personal playground as well

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 2 points 1 day ago

Commie is when people I don’t like

[–] NOT_RICK@lemmy.world 54 points 1 day ago

This is weird and unhinged even by Karp’s standards. What analysts tried to screw him?

[–] ultranaut@lemmy.world 21 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I'm convinced Karp has a serious stimulant habit.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 2 points 1 day ago

i heard he like THIEL is associated with epstein, im not surprised. besides THiel is in control of palintir, karp is jut a puppet.

[–] real_squids@sopuli.xyz 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Being a "lower purpose" (at least to me) sounds like something that would make you a worse person, so the answer checks out?

[–] wheezy@lemmy.ml 10 points 1 day ago

I think that's how he intends it. But a "higher purpose" is usually related to belief in something beyond your short life. Whether it's leaving a lasting impact on the world after you are gone; or connecting to some spiritual purpose that extends beyond your life.

To me I'd say my "lower purpose" just sounds like something I need to get out of bed in the morning. Like, making coffee or something.
