This is why I stopped being a Democrat years ago. I'm so mad at them. Not sure I could vote for Newsome even as the "less of a Nazi" vote.
I stayed Democrat to vote people like him out in the primary.

It’s impossible to know what (if any) principles Newsom holds. Everything he does seems so politically calculated.
He does pass a lot of liberal policies, but he always sprinkles in some conservative bullshit, like he wants to pad his conservative resumé with seemingly random, toothless declarations like this one.
This is who American Liberals think should be in the running for the next D president.

Newsom is not a good dude. It’s just that the bar is so fucking low in US politics these days, there are a lot of people who look at him and think he’s not half bad. But make no mistake - he’s a neoliberal corporatist, and is lately trying to ham-fistedly lean into populism. Huge “how do you do, fellow kids” vibes.

Um Ackshually, they proclaimed Feb 6 as Ronald Reagan day because that was his birthday, and he used to be Governor of California, so there's at least a connection there. Thatcher's day would probably be October 13th.
