Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

From Atlanta Capital B News

Grove Park resident Andre Dennis — a self-described pro-life, religious conservative — is no fan of Barack Obama. But even he doesn’t think it was wise for President Donald Trump or Trump’s staff to share an AI video depicting the nation’s first Black president and first lady as apes. “Do I think that it was […]The post Trump’s Racist Obama Video Is Not a Deal Breaker for Some Black Ga. For the love of all things holy, how on earth can people be so damn stupid. I will never understand.

I bet they’d be the first ones shouting “lock him up!” if Biden had released this video depicting black republicans.

[–] LMurch@thelemmy.club 17 points 13 hours ago

I think you're right, and they'd be on Foxnews EVERY DAY screeching about how this country can't survive with a leader like Biden.

“Well, let’s look at the facts: I didn’t experience anything bad, so was he really as bad as they say he was? Kinda sus if you ask me.”

“Do I think that it was a poor judgment call on the president’s behalf to post it? Yes, I do, but I’m not going to lose any sleep over it,” Dennis told Capital B Atlanta on Monday. “It’s not something that’s consequential to my life, and I believe that it’s just a lot of typical fake outrage on the left.”

[–] Blackfeathr@lemmy.world 26 points 14 hours ago (4 children)

Basically "it doesn't affect me, so I don't care."

[–] immobile7801@piefed.social 7 points 11 hours ago

The crazy part is it absolutely affects them, they're just too dumb to realize it.

[–] notwhoyouthink@lemmy.zip 11 points 13 hours ago

A hallmark of their Party.

[–] SeeMarkFly@lemmy.ml 10 points 13 hours ago

Not a "big picture" guy.

[–] X@piefed.world 3 points 10 hours ago

Not even “Basically”. They aren’t affected, they don’t care, simple as.

[–] Bonesince1997@lemmy.world 28 points 14 hours ago

Typical Republican racism and excuses to downplay it.

[–] LMurch@thelemmy.club 14 points 13 hours ago

Man, you really do have to sell your soul to the capitalist (Satan hasn't hurt anyone) if you want to be a republican.

[–] MrSulu@lemmy.ml 5 points 11 hours ago

Leopards and faces and eating spring to mind

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 6 points 13 hours ago

The ones who do the wright thing will always be considered for positions in the house.

[–] EmpireInDecay@lemmy.ml 3 points 12 hours ago

They think their proximity to white will protect them

[–] Bronzebeard@lemmy.zip 3 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

Surely, in 2026, they knew what they were signing up for to be a Republican.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 4 points 13 hours ago

Yep! And they love it.
