Hurry up dinner time.

I've got calamari to beer batter and arteries to clog.

I think we may have discussed this before but what is the story behind your username?

Mine was from the other place.

I really want to know what a Seagoon is.

[–] PeelerSheila@aussie.zone 1 points 33 minutes ago

Work related. At the time I set up this account I was peeling around 80kg of potatoes per day.

[–] SaneMartigan@aussie.zone 3 points 1 hour ago

Just a play on words. I was dumblederp but fuck JK Rowling.

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 3 points 1 hour ago

online nom de plume I've been using since last century

It was very random for me, I just wanted to come up with something quickly that wouldn't be doxable

Skateboarding as a kid down multi level car parks and steep roads. Most fun was sitting on our arses and racing that way.

[–] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 3 points 2 hours ago

A friend a very long time ago took my nickname, morphed it and morphed it again until it became Spin, which caught on in my friend group for quite a few years and became my favourite nick name. It's generally taken up on every platform, so I expanded to what it is.

[–] Catfish@aussie.zone 5 points 3 hours ago

Long ago on a different Platform a group of very silly young men were whinging about catfishing. A whole bunch of us changed our display names to Catfish and flooded the daily feed with silly fish related posts. I found it amusing and kept it.

Mr Woof's and Miss Meow's real names. Which means when anyone here uses my username I have a brief moment of confusion before I realise they are actually referring to me 🀣

[–] Thornburywitch@aussie.zone 3 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Mine is very boring. I'm a witch and I live in Thornbury. All my social media usernames are variations on this theme. Would have been worse if I lived in Ipswich. One day I shall re-invent myself, but at present I see no particular need to do so.

[–] calhoon2005@aussie.zone 2 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

What if there were two witches in Ipswich? People would ask, but which Ipswich witch?

[–] TheWitchofThornbury2@aussie.zone 1 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

Not only that, but what the witch of Ipswich actually does. Which witch switches the switch for Ipswich?

Not telling.

[–] calhoon2005@aussie.zone 2 points 38 minutes ago

Is it the one wearing an Irish wrist watch?

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 4 points 3 hours ago

It came about because one day sitting around the dinner table my daughter said something about her dad being the boss of the house and I said "No I'm the boss. I'm the CEO of this house and your dad is 2IC" and he looked at her and said "It's true. She is the boss". And the name stuck.

It’s part of a lyric from a song called β€œAll There Is” by my favourite band, Bad Religion.

The lyrics question the human condition in a pessimistic way. Lyrics about the futility of existence, despair, and the pain of living in a world with little substance coupled with high tempo drumming, blistering guitars and three part harmonies. Typical Bad Religion fare…

I remember once I tried to make a reference to Neil Gaiman - American gods to you and it went completely over your head. Now I know why πŸ«₯

damn I love his books, why does he have to be such a rapey bastard

[–] useless_modern_god@aussie.zone 1 points 10 minutes ago

I believe charges were dropped, but the public opinion is a different story of course.

Lady Seagoon is a character in the Goon Show. This one is another parody of a Sherlock Holmes movie/Beau Geste

[–] Alamutjones@aussie.zone 4 points 4 hours ago (3 children)

Five books at a time is too many, right?

[–] Thornburywitch@aussie.zone 1 points 3 hours ago

That's the MINIMUM.

[–] Eagle@aussie.zone 1 points 3 hours ago

No. Unless you're using them as weapons.

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 5 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

Last night was bad. Today is gonna be worse.

[–] Thornburywitch@aussie.zone 6 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

Tomorrow will be beyond imagining.

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 5 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

[–] Thornburywitch@aussie.zone 6 points 4 hours ago

Sorry, quote from The Dark Is Rising. "Tonight will be bad, and tomorrow will be beyond imagining".
