Yeah probably. You may be able to get two crew on oxygen and two on the pilot seat for repairs (and then have someone hop over to doors as soon as they can), then jump out of there first chance you get and hope you're in range of a shop to buy some repairs since you got 150 scrap.

You're just going to have to cross your fingers that the shield hold long enough and that no missiles hit the engine.

Yeah, the Glaive beam is one of those gadgets ... if it works, it's awesome. If it doesn't ... not so much.

The beam isn't working in this case, because the enemy is throwing stuff at you faster than your beam can load and your ship can tank. One possible way to salvage this situation could have been to turn off the beam, reorder the weapons and use the ion blast and basic lasers to work your way through the enemy shield towards their weapons bay.

Well, yes, but that would require me to preemptively choose caution over expediency. On a related note, I always fight the giant spiders, and then get very upset at the predictable outcome.
