And build this 128-way, 64-direction stack interchange. It'll fix traffic bro, trust me.

You cannot tell me you have a 128 way interchange and not expect me to be impressed and interested

I mean, the math of this thing, I want to know more!

Y'all will do literally anything to avoid a roundabout

[–] ToastedRavioli@midwest.social 3 points 20 hours ago (2 children)

There are roundabouts all over the US. Our capitol has roundabouts. Small towns in the mountain west have roundabouts. Most major US cities have roundabouts. In Massachusetts they have roundabouts but call them rotaries. In some places they call it a traffic circle.

We have no shortage of roundabouts here

Massachusetts also has this, note that every part where a road intersects here has it's own light signal

it's also right next to a major train stop and there's no pedestrian walk waysor anything

OHDoT is installing tons of roundabouts at rural intersections and it is so funny listening to locals bitch and moan about them. They aren't hard, y'all are just morons.

[–] LORDSMEGMA@sh.itjust.works 1 points 14 hours ago

Oh man this reminds of when I lived in a somewhat rural town in northern CA. Someone complained in the paper about the new roundabouts calling it "creeping European socialism"

[–] SaltSong@startrek.website 3 points 19 hours ago

That's not more lanes, it's just more intersections.

We'll get started on it as soon as the cheque clears.

We need to take a cue from TCP/IP: break us up into chunks and let each one find it's own best route to the destination, then reassemble us (in the right order) when we get there.

And we'll finally have a network of tubes with ground beef!

Ah, Dallas.

[–] Draegur@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 day ago

i want to (virtually) drive on that (alone, as the only traffic).

just to like ... explore the twists and turns O.O

i really really loved mazes in 'activity books' when i was little...

At the end of the day, most commutes are still shorter 🤷‍♂️.
