Horizon overwatch?

Hard pass.

Not really tho. Like, the art style is similar fo sho, but gameplay isn't (unless they've wildly changed Overwatch). It looks closer to Horizon Monster Hunter. There is also going to be a story mode you can play solo (with bots), so that's neat.

I'll wait for the results on that monster hunter clone promise, those don't usually do well for long.

Man, remember when God Eater was the closest thing we had to Monster Hunter on PC? That was rough.

Have any clones done the genre justice? I can't think of a single one that rivals even Monster Hunter's worst entries (unless you count Dragon's Dogma, but the resemblance is skin-deep).

I really enjoyed the first game but couldn't get through the second. Too much of the same without the interesting enough for me mystery. Enough reveals in the second game and my interest in the story tanked

Regardless of that, I ignored this news until I started reading that this is actually guerilla games studios work straight up rather than licensed out development with them more as narrative/art consultants. The game doesn't look small. What's the developmental state of a third game when this is a main studio game rather than a licensed out game

Wow I hate that art style. Maybe it'll grow on me but first impression was not good. Horizon Monster Hunter sounds dope on paper though.

Good timing too, since Monster Hunter Wilds was such a mess. If it’s any good, I’ll gladly choose this one until Capcom gets their act together.

I didn't play the second game.

Why does it look like Fable now? And they all have actual clothes now? Weren't they wearing nets and loincloths before?

[–] iamthetot@piefed.ca 3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

The clothes are quite accurate to what kinds of things they were wearing even in the first game so I'm not sure what you remember them wearing.

As for the style, I'm not a fan either but I'm guessing this style is easier to run on lower spec PCs which is important for a multiplayer title.

Horizon

lower-spec

Here's hoping. The first Horizon was also the first game to not run on my decade-old mid-range PC, and now's a terrible time to need an upgrade.
