This community is focused on games, of all kinds. Any news item or discussion should be related to gaming in some way.

2. No bigotry or harassment, be civil

No bigotry, hardline stance. Try not to get too heated when entering into a discussion or debate.

We are here to talk and discuss about one of our passions, not fight or be exposed to hate. Posts or responses that are hateful will be deleted to keep the atmosphere good. If repeatedly violated, not only will the comment be deleted but a ban will be handed out as well. We judge each case individually.

3. No excessive self-promotion

We want to keep the quality of posts high. Therefore, memes, funny videos, low-effort posts and reposts are not allowed. We prohibit giveaways because we cannot be sure that the person holding the giveaway will actually do what they promise.

5. Mark Spoilers and NSFW

Make sure to mark your stuff or it may be removed.

No one wants to be spoiled. Therefore, always mark spoilers. Similarly mark NSFW, in case anyone is browsing in a public space or at work.

6. No linking to piracy

Don't share it here, there are other places to find it. Discussion of piracy is fine.

We don't want us moderators or the admins of lemmy.world to get in trouble for linking to piracy. Therefore, any link to piracy will be removed. Discussion of it is of course allowed.

Reports are inconclusive at the moment. Some users have reported worse performance, others swear that uninstalling mods and/or verifying the game's files has fixed their performance issues.

This is not the first Capcom game to use Enigma.

Wasn't Denuvo cracked for this game already? The hell is the point of having ANY drm at that point?

[–] SeductiveTortoise@piefed.social 4 points 3 hours ago

You won't get the massive, cool updates if you stick to a cracked version!

Like... uh, the new DRM!

Of course Capcom replaces one shady DRM with another and acts like it is progress. DRM is DRM, it still breaks mods, performance and trust. I am tired of studios pretending a different logo makes it OK.

Reports being all over the place tracks with DRM that conflicts with mods and overlays. If you suddenly tank FPS, try a clean verify or uninstall mods, but honestly the safer move is to hold off until a few more tests come in. Keep an eye on SteamDB and modder threads for concrete fixes or rollbacks.

Bottom line, don't trust Capcom to pick something that benefits players. If it harms your game, request a refund and vote with your wallet. DRM should never be the default.

is there a list of games using this?

[–] Aielman15@lemmy.world 4 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

I font have a full list, but this article from 2y ago mentions three of the Mega Man Legacy Collections (Zero, ZX and Battle Network), Resident Evil Revelations and a game which I've never heard of called Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective.

A shame you haven't heard of Ghost Trick actually! It's a fun puzzle game about a guy trying to solve his own murder, as he's a ghost who's forgotten who he is. You have to set up rube goldberg machines to prevent other people from dying, that may or may not be related to your death.

Also a shame that it has DRM.

After reading your comment I went and looked at the trailer and it looks like a lot of fun!

I don't feel like rewarding Capcom's shitty decisions, but I'll almost certainly grab it down the line if they ever revert their policy and remove DRM from it.

Ghost Trick was originally a DS game, so if you don't care about HD artwork tracking down the DS version is an option.

I don't care for DRM, but I care for Russian companies paying taxes with my money.
