5. Only recent news is allowed.
Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.
6. All posts must be news articles.
No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.
7. No duplicate posts.
If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.
8. Misinformation is prohibited.
Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.
9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.
All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.
10. Don't copy entire article in your post body
For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Only leaks will release the files, and they are definitely held under a tight watch, if not destroyed where they can. The really incendenary stuff likely kept under unrelated file names, an old trick to keep courts or prying eyes from ordering the release of files or the leak thereof. Someone would be a hero, but should maybe skip out to a non extradition country immediately after the leak to happen after they are safe somewhere.
Or just someone with nothing left to lose that doesn't care. Some patriot, they do exist, some that learned the bosses they believed in were always cynical betrayers of the country, some going along to get along despite knowing the vagaries of our leaders. Either way, if one could get their hands on it
If these files could be leaked they would have been already. I don’t even fully trust the DOJ is releasing actual files at this point
Consider for a moment the fact that you just said the solution to them releasing unredacted child porn is to release more unredacted child porn.
Consider for a moment the only thing we can confidently say they are reacting is things that would harm the perpetrators. They've redacted everybody but a victim time and again across the files they've released, frequently they'll react a perp in one document only to leave it unredacted in the next despite it having identical content (namely the text messages as there is message text contents as well as screenshots). Seeing as they already fail to redact child porn and are definitely reacting things that'll implicate people, including even Epstein I think you can make an extremely good argument they shouldn't be redacted at all when it's being done so plainly maliciously

They were looking for the president's name, and his favorites. 1,000 agents all last year was it on this? They probably used computer programs and ai to flag all mentions of people, redact by default all mentions of some things, etc to speed the process of redacting 8,000,000 files.
They were bad at it, partly because what they were redacting wasn't what they were supposed to be redacting, they were supposed to be protecting victims and safeguarding investigations. No one is more of a victim than the president and his party I suppose. As if there are ongoing investigations that aren't looking into how people found out about which abuse and how to capture and kill the information, and never how do we prosecute these people.
I saw something like this once, in a two day speech given by Carneades of Cyrene in Rome.

The only way for justice is to bring the crimes to light. The best way to honor the victims of abuse are to nail the perpetrators to the wall, and that is the only way to do that. And the files could be mostly released to media which then could redact sensitive information, but the files would be available to enough organizations/people that improper redactions to shield their favorites, looking at you NYTimes, would be caught, called out.
It's pretty clear they're saying they should only be redacted to protect victims, not perpetrators.
They literally said that the full unredacted files are the only way forward. They were very clearly not saying that.

I'm very clearly not ignoring it because I addressed it in my comment. The contradiction between their two statements is the entire point of my comment.
They didn't say, "release the files with only the victims redacted." They said release the full, unredacted files.
They did indeed, and using the context of what was said before that, you can reasonably deduce that they meant the full, unredacted files as far as the perpetrators go. You are being willfully obtuse by choosing to take the literal meaning of the last thing that was said and ignoring everything prior.
No, you can't reasonably deduce it. "Releasing the full UNREDACTED files is the only way forward," is an absolute statement. The context doesn't change this.
It's wild that instead of admitting they misspoke and meant there should be caveats, y'all are doubling down on intentions that were not present in the statement.
Even if there weren't for sure tons more evidence, none of it exculpatory, why would this tranche have quelled anything? The little I've seen is disgusting and outrageous - garland and Bondi should both be brought up on charges

No one should be covering for the former president and his appointees. The former president had 4 years and decided to allow his Federalist Society appointed AG to remain captured by the enemy. Despite 2021 showing a lack of fight to protect the country, it's people, and society when it was outwardly, undeniably under attack.
But at least they didn't suffer bad faith projections from the republicans about politicizing the justice department as they planned to do. I'm joking of course they did that still. They allowed the republic to die of a terminal disease with an unused treatment protocol, and every ability to implement it. At no point was anyone fired by the president, while perhaps every federal agency failed in it's statutory duties, courts remained mostly captured with not a cross speech let alone campaign attacking their bad faith decisions.

It appears we're in a cycle of murdering citizens to distract from the Epstein files, then releasing more of the files to distract from the murders, then murdering more citizens to distract from the files.
If our justice system won't hold people accountable, perhaps it's time to consider ways of holding people accountable that don'trely on our justice system.
What is worse is it was reported the FBI had 1,000 agents all last year going through these files, 8 million in total, redacting stuff, and they still didn't seem to have been finished. Each agent would have to review and redact 8,000 files if I remember that figure correctly, 300 days of work makes it about 30 files a day.
The hell it must be for those agents. Imagine going to Quantico, training like crazy to be what you think is a force for good, and your job ends up being looking at millions of proofs of the most unspeakable things every day for a fucking year... TO COVER IT.
I'm absolutely floored we haven't seen massive leaks and reports of FBI agents offing themselves left and right.
