Yay my pay fell out of the cloud finally and into my bank account! ๐Ÿคธ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ Thankyou for your kind words this morning guys, it really helped me emotionally!

hugs

I really dislike employers who leave employees hanging. ๐ŸคฌYou've done your work. They should pay. It's not your problem how they do it. And it's a moral issue too, people have families and bills. You do not know if children will go hungry pr without medical care. It's just unacceptable.

That's great to hear. I hope they fixed the system so it's always on time now

Dinner is done.

I made pasta al limone, with fried salmon and a salad with lemon-yoghurt dressing. It was rather tasty. I've been trying to do more pasta sauces that are not tomato based, this definitely fits the bill.

[โ€“] Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 4 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Hey I did linguini limone last night too! No protein though.

[โ€“] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 3 points 1 day ago

Nice, very good presentation. My original plan was to flake the salmon through the pasta, but I decided a flake-as-you-go approach would be simpler.

Contemplating veg and tofu stir fry with much noodle for dinner tonight, y/n?

[โ€“] TheWitchofThornbury2@aussie.zone 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Ditch the tofu for snozzages.

[โ€“] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Can confirm snozzages are delicious.

The butcher in Northcote Plaza has 'volcano' sausages that are the absolute bomb! Loaded with chili and fennel seeds, each individual sausage is about golf ball sized. They are AMAZING!

[โ€“] Force_majeure1234@aussie.zone 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

That's what I had for lunch! Except there was no tofu, not many vegetables, and too much oil! So like the exact same thing basically

Still haven't gotten my pay ๐Ÿ˜• It's in the damn cloud somewhere. Had to transfer money out of my kids bank accounts to cover direct debits. I feel deeply ashamed.

[โ€“] melbaboutown@aussie.zone 7 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Thereโ€™s no shame, itโ€™s keeping the water and lights on that they also use and youโ€™ll pay it back.

Iโ€™m wondering if Mr P is contributing to the household expenses. Because now would be a great time

Edit: I found this for emergency help with essentials, fingers crossed your pay comes through soon but if not https://ndh.org.au/debt-solutions/emergency-assistance/

[โ€“] Eagle@aussie.zone 6 points 1 day ago

There is no shame to be had. You are doing what you have to, and the money will be back in theirs as soon as it hits your account. Its nothing you've done and beyond your control.

Iโ€™m annoyed I got rid of a cooling elevated mesh pet bed that was too high for Melbcat to comfortably step up onto. This furry lil dude could have used it.

spoilerTrying to work out how to rig some shade cloth or shade sails that wonโ€™t cause damage with weight/a gust of wind and donโ€™t count as a โ€˜fixtureโ€™. As a bonus it would shade the window.

I considered one of those big freestanding umbrellas but they are quite expensive, bulky and too heavy for me to move or assemble.

[โ€“] LowExperience2368@aussie.zone 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

We got doggo a cooling mat. The most he's done is stick a paw on it. Maybe melbcat will like something like that?

[โ€“] melbaboutown@aussie.zone 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Good idea. I want to get something for the outside cat as well though to stop him turning into a roast chicken

I have no idea where he goes during the 40 degree days

New guy in the costumer service team at work. I think I remember seeing him being interviewed. I wonder if he'll last longer than the other woman that just left one morning. He's young so I think he'll take to it pretty well.

He's also really tall, like really tall. I wonder if I should tell him that? I wonder if anyone's pointed it out to him before?

Yay, managed to swap my shitty late shifts for both today and tomorrow ๐Ÿ™reasonable working hours ftw

[โ€“] melbaboutown@aussie.zone 4 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Argh. Maybe trapping this cat is a bad idea. Iโ€™ll try to get a good picture and put it on the lost pet sites or something. (Donโ€™t use FB anymore.)

Edit: I confirmed with someone who worked in cat rescue, he would likely be euthanised at a shelter as soon as he hissed. So I guess if he doesnโ€™t have an owner to save him Iโ€™ll just have to provide food and whatever coolth I can engineer without being able to let him inside. Try and soften him up and hopefully find some sort of solution at some point.
