Habit mostly. It takes time but you get used to it. Also depends on the intensity of your work. Might also be affected by your sleep pattern. If you are a heavy sleeper, you rest less, and you get tired more easily.

Walking/Running/Treadmill is one of the best exercises you can do if your aim is to stay fit (along with paddling and bicycling), so don't worry too much about the gym if that's something that suits you. As long as you are consistent.

If you are overweight, then I'd suggest switching to cycling instead. It can burn more calories than a treadmill, and it goes far easier for your knees, ankles and back. That might be an additional factor why you get tired easily.

Consider lifting. Some people don't take well to endurance exercise and do better with strength building.

I have no idea tbh. I stopped going to the gym for a while, but I'm thinking of going back. The only time I could realistically go is early in the morning (5/6 am), but who wants to do that? After work & after parenting, I'm pretty much drained for the day.

During the 8 hours, they take breaks/pauses/rehydration for long enough that their recovery systems recharge. Depends how intensely you are walking as well. And how well hydrated and fueled up with carbs you are. Why are you on the treadmill for an hour?

(The point of cardio IS to burn calories, so you should feel tired! That's the carbs getting drained out of you. Needing time to recover means the exercise is working.)

How often are you mentally stressed out?

If you keep the habit long enough at one point the chore becomes a necessity; it will become hard to function effectively without repeating the habit. The trick is to make sure you can keep the habit long enough so that the quantiative changes becomes a qualitative one. Finding something you enjoy and doing it more, some people distract themselves with music to endure longer, consider having a higher proportion weight resistance over "cardio" can be more "time efficient" depending on your goals, and ensure you are eating and sleeping well (the latter two can be their own battles). If you're not white (and even if you are white) then consider getting Vitamin D checked especially if there is not enough sun.
