If you check subscriber timelines on reddit-logo you can see that r/Ukraine goes from 10k to 1mil basically overnight in Feb 2022. That should give you a clue to how organic these communities are. r/China is clearly full of white sexpests who either never visited or stayed for a month 15 years ago, and r/vzla (Venezuela) is a creative endeavor to determine just how many ways one can ask to be carpet bombed by a foreign fascist country.
