Not that fighting with liberals on line achieves anything, but I've moved to "the democrats won't save you" in times like these. Because an immigrant or non white or LGBTQ liberal might hear "both sides are the same" and immediately tune you out or get hostile because the Democrats weren't executing people in the streets. But "Democrats won't save you" is

1. completely true and factually defensible

2. opens up a talking point of "how can we be saved" which leads you to

3. the main point is we need to save ourselves.

Don't get bogged down in arguments with liberals, engage in thought provoking questions and try to lead them to ideas of what can be achieved.

But, but, liberals are owed support uncritically. If you ask anything of them or criticize them, you are helping the conservatives, since the only people liberals should ever appeal to are die-hard conservatives. If you aren't a conservative, Democrats are owed your support and it is "purity testing" that will cost the Democrats, if you don't fully support everything the Democrats do constantly. Even if they are pro-fascist.

we say one side is fascist, the other is a slightly more inclusive form of fascism and completely complicit with the former.

I actually smiled when I saw this, because I have repeatedly seen anti-Bolsheviks on Lemmy.ml say this with regards to Imperial America and its enemies. ‘Fuck China and fuck America’ is such a typical — and bland — take.
