Donald Trump threatened to sue JPMorgan Chase on Saturday, citing an unsubstantiated allegation that major banks discriminated against him after the 6 January 2021 Capitol riot.

Trump announced the potential lawsuit in a post on social media, tying the threat to his criticism of a recent Wall Street Journal article that reported he had offered the JPMorgan Chase CEO, Jamie Dimon, the position of US Federal Reserve chair. Trump insists the report is inaccurate and says no such offer was ever made.

The president also reiterated his claim that JPMorgan Chase – the largest US bank – improperly cut off his banking access after the January 6 Capitol attack, without providing evidence. He also did not provide evidence for his often-repeated false claim that the 2020 presidential election was rigged against him.

Trump has alleged that several banks, including JPMorgan Chase and Bank of America, refused to accept his deposits following the events of 6 January 2021. Both institutions have strongly rejected those accusations.

When do we all get to collectively sue Trump, for everything?

[–] 5oap10116@lemmy.world 32 points 2 months ago

Discovery would be insane but good chance JPM will just settle gutlessly

Not quite. It’s someone with a small penis governing.

[–] bus_factor@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago (1 children)

He's in government, but he's not governing.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

hes doing exactly as he told, by putin and his billionaire handlers.

[–] bus_factor@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

Nah, they're not telling him outright what to do, that wouldn't work. He's very poor at doing what he's told. They are manipulating him constantly though.

“Small government” politician mad that a capitalist business can choose to refuse service. Isn’t that something.

[–] Wilco@lemmy.zip 1 points 2 months ago

Yea, they can refuse to bake a cake for a gay couple ... but better not refuse to make financial deals with a seditionist (and felon).

Oh no! Mom and Dad are fighting!

I hope they don't expect us to pick a side, because they both should burn in hell and it's pretty fucking insane neither has faced any real consequences for the disgusting things they've enabled and continue to protect and help cover up.

How JPMorgan Enabled the Crimes of Jeffrey Epstein

I hate to even reluctantly defend mom in any way, because I do feel like she isn't now and never was "too big to fail," but if we're pretending the rule of law is still a thing, I do feel like it's at least worth mentioning that dad has a younger girlfriend he's planning to run off with, and it would probably be a little too convenient if it turns out mom can suddenly be held accountable for literally the first time in her entire fucking life.

Trump family’s crypto firm seeks bank charter

I kinda wonder if she had that really dramatic work done a few months back because she thought it might convince Dad to stay instead of murdering her and abandoning the federal reserve to run off with his younger model.

JPMorgan Chase to Unlock Billions: Crypto Collateral for Loans Signals New Era

JPMorgan to Let Clients Use Bitcoin and Ethereum (Peter Thiel's cryptobank) as Collateral for Loans

It's also hard to know if this is actually dad putting pressure on Mom or just theatre to distract from how shitty they both are.

Yesterday the DOJ filed a motion to keep the Epstein files sealed in order to block a subpoena filed by Peter Thiel's paid stooges (Kahnna and Massie), but again, it's kind of impossible to know what's theatre meant to distract with yet another promise of justice that they know will take one step forward and two steps back vs. actual threats being made during some kind of turf war/pissing contest between Trump, and the different factions of his administration.

It seems a little hard to not ask if two guilty party's pointing fingers at each other over crimes they both benefit from keeping covered up, might also both be planning to benefit from destroying the federal reserve and replacing it with crypto while we're all distracted believing they actually have any intention of bringing each other down. Coincidentally, destroying the reserve has been a goal Thiel has been trying to accomplish for a very long time, and one Massie has helped him advance.

When will he sue anyone over the Epstein files?
He's a knobhead

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 2 months ago

he wont, because he know its true and any potential lawsuit would have discovery of evidence from epstein files.

Trump is a little whiney bitch

[–] fox2263@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

Ah is this the source of the “debanking” shit him and jnr started complaining about back then and the worries of them coming for your money

[–] finallymadeanaccount@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

Jesus, he's an entitled little bitch. Businesses - whatever type of business they are - are not required to serve you if they don't want to. I hate that it sounds like I'm defending JPM Chase and BoA, but that includes them!
