I don't think we should be supporting any party that supports polices. All Polices Are Bastardses.

If you support closer ties to authoritarian systems, doesn't that make you authoritarian?

[–] OccamsRazer@lemmy.world 2 points 17 hours ago

Authoritarianism is when the other guys do it.

You can claim to be antiauthoritarian because you oppose your local authoritarian system, while simping for authoritarian systems abroad, i've already seen this type of people, be it pure tankies or people that don't treat antiauthoritarianism as a top priority

Which party in the US is this supposed to be about?

[–] NightFantom@slrpnk.net 19 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Does this need to be about the US?

[–] TheAlbatross@lemmy.blahaj.zone 14 points 2 days ago (1 children)

No, though I thought it might be since the image shows an American senator next to an American flag

I wouldn't read too much into meme templates.

[–] TheAlbatross@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

So it's not referring to a specific party?

[–] Deceptichum@quokk.au 7 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Not any one specific party, no.

[–] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 10 points 2 days ago

An example would be the German party "Die Linke". They recently shed their most moronic elements and have overall more or less sensible ideas. But they're still simping for Putin, which is a real shame.

But it happens frequently enough where you are that it's a noticeable pattern?

[–] Deceptichum@quokk.au 11 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

Yes.

Can you stop beating around the bush and just make whatever point you're trying to push here.

Relax, there's no point other than genuine curiosity because the situation the meme described is not something I've encountered before.

Out of two parties in Brazil that make the top 3 rows, one falls all the way to the 4th.

And, of course, out of the 4 main ones that fit the 1st, 3 fit the 4th.

Good point, Bernie Sanders is French

The only kind of party that US politicians support are Trump and Epstein's Pedophile Parties.

I mean, there's the DSA, but they don't have a great deal of influence and maybe the meme applies to them, I'm not sure about their positions on foreign policy.
