I was looking for a list like this one so I decided to post it for others.

Does anyone know of any other lists that are similar to this or have even more information in one place?

#fediverse #activitypub #app

Edit: This isn't my list, just one I found and decided to share.

Not seen one more detailed than this, although worth checking against fedidb.com - also, missing my new favourite from the list, stegodon (stegodon.social, stegodon.zip)

Ah, I guess I would be checking here.

https://fedidb.com/software

Just checked out stegodon, it's very niche. :)

Incredibly niche! :)

Probably why i like it so much.

[–] INeedMana@piefed.zip 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I checked it out. Do I read it correctly that it's a bit like BBS but via ssh and without blocking the line?

[–] Demigodrick@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 month ago

Like mastodon in SSH (and yes, no blocking the line!)

Aww I don't see Summit for Lemmy on there, its been my favorite so far

[–] fujiwood@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Perhaps you can somehow let the writers know?

[–] dimjim@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 month ago

True, I could add it to the issues list

[–] Pamasich@kbin.earth 6 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Shame there's still only one for Mbin after all this time.

[–] Coelacanth@feddit.nu 6 points 2 months ago (2 children)

How many MAUs does Mbin have, like 1000 combined across all the instances? One single app makes sense to me. I'm sure more will add compatibility if Mbin ever takes off, but it sounds like a lot of work at the moment for very marginal gains or demand.

Piefed has only 2k too and it has 6 apps on this list.

Mbin is at 1.4k according to fedidb.

The Piefed API is structured very similarly to Lemmy which allowed me to write a simple adaptor for it without changing much of my clients actual code. I think mbin's API would take a lot longer to adapt.

The problem is that mbin's "API" is quite different from Lemmy and PieFed. It would be easier to make an entirely new app for mbin rather than try to retrofit those capabilities into the existing lines of code, which could cause maintanence headaches with the coding (as I understand it) This is a core reason why Photon (one of the "clients" for Lemmy) has not yet added a functionality for it

it's great now though

Blorp is missing from that list. It's has been my goto client for lemmy and piefed for a while now.

[–] squirrel@piefed.kobel.fyi 4 points 2 months ago (2 children)

It's right there between Bloat and Brexxtodon

[–] moseschrute@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

Blorp dev here. I’ve always said, if you want something right between Bloat and BREXXTODON, Blorp is probably what you’re looking for.

[–] hornedfiend@sopuli.xyz 1 points 2 months ago

You're right, I used the link in the repo description: https://delightful.coding.social/delightful_fediverse_clients and it's missing from there.

Thank you for using my silly app :)

[–] QuandaleDingle@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

I haven't used it yet, but I will now! XD

[–] rglullis@communick.news 3 points 2 months ago

Looking at the list, only AndStatus and Evan's CLI tool speak activitypub natively. Everything else depends on an application API.

[–] DieserTypMatthias@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Eternity is missing. It's a fork of Infinity, but for Lemmy.

[–] fujiwood@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

I don't know their criteria but maybe you can let them know.
