After the vote, Trump threatened the senators with primary challenges, according to people with knowledge of the calls.

Hours after the Senate voted to advance the war powers resolution rebuking the White House’s current and future actions in Venezuela, Donald Trump placed “angry” calls to each of the 5 Republicans who crossed the aisle, according to people with knowledge of the calls.

Sens. Josh Hawley, R-Mo.; Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska; Rand Paul, R-Ky.; Susan Collins, R-Maine; and Todd Young, R-Ind., voted with Democrats to require the administration to get congressional approval for future military action in Venezuela.

Thursday's vote was a procedural motion, and it advances the legislation to a full Senate vote that will require a simple majority.

Soon after the vote, Trump threatened each senator with primary challenges, vowing to unseat them, the people said.

What a little crybaby bitch he is.

[–] HazardousBanjo@lemmy.world 40 points 2 days ago (1 children)

You think he's a bitch? Wait until you see the Republicans piss their pants and completely shoot down this shit when it comes back after the inevitable veto. Assuming it makes it that far.

Whole party of fascist pussies.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 11 points 2 days ago

I'm thinking it's mostly for show because of the veto.

[–] madcaesar@lemmy.world 40 points 2 days ago (2 children)

The fucked up thing is, that all senators pretty much have fuck you money, so even losing their job would mean nothing to them, and yet they chose to lick orange balls

[–] PKscope@lemmy.world 19 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It's starting to feel like they fear more than their jobs at this point.

[–] SeeMarkFly@lemmy.ml 12 points 2 days ago (2 children)

I'm sure they have dirt on each other. If one goes down, they ALL go down.

Wouldn't bother me.

[–] hitmyspot@aussie.zone 12 points 2 days ago (3 children)

It's not dirt. It's death threats. Marjorie Taylor Green didn't play nice with trump for 2 minutes and then quit politics as she got scared of the far right reaction.

This is the answer. The conservative "movement" and Republican Party is run like a crime family.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 13 points 2 days ago

It is a Crime Family. We know now that they've been covering for the biggest international pedophile sex ring in history, for decades. And they haven't even tried to hide their graft and corruption.

It's only a matter of time before we see if American windows are as deadly as the Russian ones.

Well, there's this, too:

Imagine pissing your pants over something like Code Pink chanting slogans at you. Taco and those around him are such a bunch of pussies.

Let em all burn! Dems too.

[–] FlexibleToast@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

Shit, even their garuanteed retirement is plenty.

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 25 points 2 days ago

It's a good thing he's doing this, and the harder he comes down on them the better

Just like with Greene, it takes them directly experiencing it to learn that prior loyalty counts for nothing, so if you ever oppose anything they will ever do, you're just as bad as someone who opposed them the whole time.

The sooner they learn it, the better everyone else is.

At the very least, some will resign because they're cowards.

[–] dhork@lemmy.world 28 points 2 days ago (1 children)

He sounds really angry. He should be careful, if he gets too upset he may end up getting a heart attack or a stroke due to stress. That would be a shame....

[–] Rhaedas@fedia.io 8 points 2 days ago (2 children)

That's his secret. He's always angry.

[–] sidelove@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago

*That's his secret. He's always a little bitch.

[–] altphoto@lemmy.today 1 points 2 days ago

Hey big guy. Crying. The sun is getting real low she said. She said to him. She. Crying. The sun. The sun is getting really low. You could touch it because it was low like that. They always tell you not to look into the sun. Crying. But you know what He does? He looks on! Because he's got tears in his eyes. Real real low. Good on both sides. I see good in all of them. .....

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 19 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It'd be hilarious if some of them would just hang up on him mid-rant.

[–] leadore@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago

*Crumples paper next to phone* "Sorry sir, you're breaking up. Sir? Sir?" *disconnects*

[–] watson387@sopuli.xyz 20 points 2 days ago

If he doesn't like it, he's more than welcome to go fuck himself.

[–] aramis87@fedia.io 16 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Murkowski and Collins will always fold. Hawley will act tough, then fold. No idea about Young. Oddly enough, probably the most principled one here is Rand.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago

Hawley will act tough, then fold.

His idea of tough seems to be exactly what happened on the day of conservative terrorism at the Capitol - J6.

At the start of the day, he raises a fist in solidarity to all the redcap brainstems out to overturn a free and fair election that Donvict is such a little baby about.

Cut to: later, in the day, he's caught on camera in a full sprint, in fear of getting lynched by his own fucking mob.

[–] kill_dash_nine@lemmy.zip 1 points 2 days ago

As someone from Indiana, he loves to talk about service to the country as he is former military but he’s still a piece of shit.

[–] Lon3star@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Seems like this would be the exact reason why he should get reigned in

[–] santa@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 days ago

And unnecessarily. This was already the case, right?
