I started a “songwriting sprint”, and I think I got one or two usable tracks out of it. I’ve also been playing a new Minecraft survival world and reading a book.
Does anyone know the root cause of these frequent outages and if there’s anything we members can do to help out?
I've been told that keeping a lemmy instance healthy is a chore. I love SDF, but I don't think as an organization, there's quite as active administration or monitoring of this instance as would be ideal.
I've not yet jumped ship, because I honestly have a million other things I could be doing than surfing lemmy.

But you can be in the fediverse! With us!
This is Albert Wesker, reporting to you live, from the grass.
Last few outages they commented on BBOARD that the server hardware has some issues (insufficient storage space, faulty fans) and the funding allocated to Lemmy is running short. I've asked for a break-down of the upgrade/replacement costs and for some understanding of how membership fees (for ARPAs and MetaARPAs) get allocated into the various services, not heard back yet. My one wish is that someone on the admin side would provide updates on Lemmy about Lemmy affairs, I'm not too sure how often the Lemmy userbase checks BBOARD for news. I'd hope that with some better communication on the issues faced they could get some more support.
Please post back when you get clarification. I would be happy to donate directly toward maintaining this instance.
Reply received. They've reiterated the need for more disk space and new fans, and have given the server model: HP DL360 Gen9.
Didn't get anything about cost estimates or giving status updates on Lemmy directly.
I wonder where their metal is hosted. I'd strongly consider paying a visit with donations.
Let us know plx. Sometimes I wish the lemmy admin was not a ghost and could speak to us without a seancé, but it's a pretty cool fact for picking up girls too.
I installed clips onto the bottom of my sectional sofa that prevent it from separating. Which is good, because it’s been separating a lot since I installed wheels onto it.
The wheels were to make it easier to move because stuff kept falling behind it, but they worked too well. They even just slid around while locked. With all the sections clipped together it doesn’t seem to budge. The clips are the alligator style ones that you push the couch together to cinch, or lift the couch section to release.
I sorted through a bunch of older keygen chiptune tracks, to curate a playlist for the background music of my Batocera rig.
Made it to the Nuclear tier in Satisfactory.
Ive been wanting to pick up Satisfactory again, since 1.1
I made this second account a while ago one time when SDF was down, it's come in handy.
I made loopable background music for my game.
What game?
Right now it looks like a tech demo, but I'm planning on making a fps metroidvania.
Here is a post of the background music game video
Wow, awesome! Thanks for sharing.
No problem.
Hit me up when you're ready to make an analognowhere game!
I will do that when I'm ready!
I'll be here.
I fixed my keyboard, and finally got EXWM set up how I like on my laptop. It has been productive!
wrote a bot that shorts any coin tweeted by elon.
I made an anarchist.nexus account for the twice-monthly outages and got some more pillows for my bed.
Worked on my house and contemplated finding a new server.
Silly question. Is there a way to get in touch with the admins to check in when it happens? Idk how active they are
They tend to be far more active and reactive to outage reports on BBOARD. Though I honestly don't know how many lemmy users are checking BBOARD.
ok great, didnt realize we were back. time to hop back
ah much better
