The year 2026, official USA government and justice system is more insane than Qanon Shaman.
The US gov and justice system are not "insane".
Mentally ill? Certainly! But the ones destroying the country know exactly what damage they're doing. They are the product of a system built by oligarchs, for oligarchs; progressively corrupted by the most sociopathic &/or psychopathic capitalism can possibly enrich — crime pays, so the most criminally corrupt naturally excel to the top of capitalism — All a wealthy criminal has to do is hide behind the liability shield of an LLC, a legal team, a profit motive, and plausible deniability... as long as they do it for profit they're free to kill millions via the stroke of a pen, bribery (aka "donations"), etc, etc.

I do think we need people like him, showing american pride, that has lost the pride in our current regime to get out of this.
