I don't see the point in differentiating users; I come here for people of a better nature than I find on reddit or twitter so differentiating them doesn't do anything for me; if one user or another replies to me it's all good, I don't need to know who specifically responded

I like not seeing people's pictures in discussions.
I feel like I get a diverse opinion from people of all age, race, and other background. And we are united on our common interests in the topic without an implicit bias.
It might have shortcomings, and my case is for not having your real picture in your profile.
oh im just such a typical and ordinary eathling that I don't see the point of a profile pic.
Sure, let's make the regime's work easier
Because I would have to go do that.
I'm not even sure being recognised is a plus.
I work 100% remotely, and my day job doesn't even have profile pics. When we meet, it's a dozen cartoon images or memes as faces. No cams, no pics.
The side gig I've had for 20 years has never had a pic. These people wouldn't recognize me if I walked in the office one day.
Why should I? We don't see a value.
They're round on my instance :( I don't like that
you could make an optional feature on a lemmy client that would show a randomly generated profile pic (e.g. dicebear) for users who did not upload one
I don't know how
I forgot
I have been meaning to for over a year, Im just too ~~lazy~~ busy to get around to it.
pfps are some newfangled hoopla
On social media where it's only anons from all around the internet, I put a silly picture like here.
But on social media where my friends or my family are, I won't put my face because hell no, and I won't put something silly either because it's hard enough to look normal.
I rarely use thoses social media so I'm fine without a profile picture at all.
No one is here to cater to you.
Mine is even animated.
I can't see it π₯Ίπ
Probably your clientβs fault.
I've had my accounts banned so many times I don't bother anymore. This account I'm on right now is living on borrowed time too lol
A) Self Crit
B) Lurk until you get it
C) Fuck off forever
You're so mad that I'm here and you don't even know what I've been banned for either
lol everyone who thinks poorly of you must be soooo mad right
Real
One of your most recent comments is about killing stray cats, so I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that you've been banned for being an asshole rather than righteously speaking truth to power or whatever.
It's every cats dream to die in battle and ascend to Valhalla and I'm the asshole for doing battle with them? Yeah okay buddy check yourself
