Imagine telling a war correspondent that they can't go to a zone of conflict because "It's too dangerous, there are people shooting each other there"

[–] PineRune@lemmy.world 35 points 1 week ago

They're more worried about covering up their troops accidentally murdering war correspondents because it's hard to blame it on "crossfire" when there's only one side actively murdering people.

Well yeah, journalists and aid groups are clearly designated enemy combatants in israeli military manuals

Something tells me that you can't really take these peoples word as the absolute truth on things regarding genocides.

[–] Johanno@feddit.org 4 points 1 week ago

Well if you consider how many journalists die in Gaza in comparison to other conflicts maybe it is dangerous? But not because of the war itself

Remind me again how this totally isn't a genocide?

Something something something "we can't do that, we're Israel?"

We've reached the point at which the evidence for a genocide is beyond denying. What we are seeing now is the manufacturing of consent for accepting it.

When history is written about this time there will be an entire field dedicated to trying to understand how a humanity more aware and more exposed to the crimes of its ruling class, than anytime in history, was able to remain so passively accepting of them.

It is almost like the media covering the crimes of our ruling class (genocide, pedophilia, imperialism) serves as a opiate for the masses. A misunderstanding that when these things are being covered that that means that someone must be doing something to stop them.

It feels like people aren't waiting for the Dam to burst. It feels like they're watching a storm approaching and just accepting (falsely) their inability to do anything to prevent it.

It's only a gentlecide. Hamas burned down the Reichstag building. They had to exterminate the semite who lived there.

[–] Lorfan@lemmy.world 21 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I still don't get what the conflict is since Israel openly admitted to funding hamas in the first place. It's basically israel vs israel.

[–] iAmTheTot@sh.itjust.works 19 points 1 week ago

It's basically israel vs israel.

If you don't count all the Palestinians dying.

If you look at the history of colonialism this is textbook.

[–] Eat_Your_Paisley@lemmy.world 17 points 1 week ago (1 children)

This assumes that Israel would accept or react to international condemnation, it also assumes that there would be international condemnation neither of which will happen.

No, Israel isn't the target audience.

People able to directly or indirectly influence the Western governments enabling Israeli atrocities are.

Without weapons, ammo, rockets, bombs, and targeting systems from the US, Germany, UK, France, and other countries, Israel won't be able to keep it up at anywhere near the current scale, eventually at all.

Unfortunately, the west needs to fall before that happens. Something that I welcome as a citizen of the west. Something that is inevitable. However, history will only tell how much blood will need to be spilled before that happens.

Instance checks out!

[–] Hoticeberg@lemmy.world 12 points 1 week ago (2 children)

You gotta wonder what kind of dirt Israel had on the U.S. and other countries.

Has*

And I’m gonna go out on a limb and say it’s got something to do with children.

[–] Deathray5@lemmynsfw.com 4 points 1 week ago

It's not just Israel, internal arms companies have a lot of lobby power.

[–] MedicPigBabySaver@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago

Fuck Israel, genocidal scum!

[–] Drusas@fedia.io 6 points 1 week ago

Blows your mind to realize that lies and ruses like these work on some people, huh? A lot of them.
