Hi, I'm looking for a country whose people or government mainly support my values. I'm looking for a country that:

  • supports wildlife protection

  • supports eco-friendly things and solar/wind energy

  • supports freedom of expression and does NOT criminalize queer people, be it trans, gay, bi, pan, intersex, asexual, etc.

  • peaceful, low crime

  • community-oriented

  • equal and just

  • very friendly towards animals, filled with animal sanctuaries and no-kill shelters

  • free education and/or healthcare (preferably education and healthcare are free/government-funded)

  • high taxes are therefore fine to me

  • compassion-oriented

  • affordable food with low unhoused rates and high employment rates

I'm not sure about animal sanctuaries and no-kill shelters, but the rest sounds like Germany.

Of course it's not perfectly just and equal etc. here, and of course community and crime rate depends on where exactly you are, so to be more precise: small city/village in southern Germany.

Freedom of expression in a small village in Bavaria? Sure all those Nazis, Christian conservatives and neo-cons will just be absolutely thrilled to welcome non-white queer non-binary trans people to their October fest and share unhealthy amounts of alcohol with them while dancing to terrible folk music.

Yeah, I also got confused by the recommendation of southern Germany in particular based on the mentioned criteria.

Germany is great in many cities in most, if not all of the criteria, but awful in others. I'd specifically try to avoid southern Bavaria (Nürnberg and Bamberg are fine), southern parts of Baden-Württemberg (apart from e.g. Freiburg) and most of Eastern Germany (Leipzig counts as "eastern" but is very progressive, for example).

There's quite a good overview of the values and issues of most Bundesländer by Brofessor Stein.

I'd say scandinavia.

None.

The closest you’ll get is probably Denmark.

But you better be white and learn the language, otherwise it’s very hard to be seen to “integrate”. It’s not a friendly country to immigration from non-“western” countries. However if you are white and you make an effort on the language, they love you.
