Greta was arrested under Section 13 of the Terrorism Act 2000 for holding up a sign reading: “I support the Palestine Action prisoners. I oppose genocide.” It is now considered illegal not just to support Palestine Action, but to support individuals who have not been convicted of any offences related to Palestine Action.

Greta is offering support to the prisoners because she is concerned they might die during their hunger strike and she feels they should not be in prison. It seems empathy is now thought crime. Even worse, police have decided it is terrorism. How far will they go with this? Will we be arrested for holding a sign saying we support Greta Thunberg? Will I be arrested for writing this article?

very-smart Yes, very true, very good.

For legal reasons, I must state my article is not intended to offer support, but simply to offer facts. I’m unclear if facts are now illegal. That would appear to be a grey area so I might end up in a gulag regardless.

wut

Brits try to describe your piece of shit "society" without likening it to a designated enemy challenge (basically impossible, failed).

And I've decided that British police should be tossed into a meat grinder.

In 2008-2012 the healthcare discourse made socialism sound cool to a bunch of people who were brainwashed for decades against it.

I sure wonder what making the anti genocide crowd “terrorists” is gonna do to the youth this time around.

the youth this time around

When their turn comes they won't make excuses for the terror.

Bizarro world shit.

Thunberg is so impressive. The way she went even harder into activism and front line direct action with her adult life came as a complete surprise to me.

Her status as a media darling and the way every liberal boomer man I knew developed a weird protective crush on her (lookin at you dad. wtf bro) creeped me out and primed me to be cynical. I cynically assumed that there were other influences and people motivating her to keep building on her activist momentum. But as an adult she's gone so hard and is clearly fully dedicated to doing even the really unpleasant and dangerous work. It's humbling.

I wasn't full conspiracy brained about it and as a kid she was still right and righteous, but it would have been totally reasonable for her to take her life in any other direction at any point. Her work as an adult puts a lie to any snide dismissal of all of her activist work and her character as a human.
