And they're right. Being unserious about climate regulations because of "but muh old automaker profits" is already terrible from a moral/logical standpoint, but even financially, what about all the startups in EVs, renewables, energy storage, public transport, micromobility, etc? The Economyโ„ข will be fine either way, but people won't.

And at the same time we can see that the sales of EVs and PHEVs are increasing in Europe. It increased 6 percentage points in France and 4 percentage points in Sweden during November 2025. With that pace the fossil cars will not have any market left by 2035 anyway.
