It's also free to pirate it, and then you don't have to deal with EGS garbage or FOMO from the limited time freebie offer.

Heroic launcher; it also replaces lutris for me since it makes it easy to run windows games through it

Unfortunately it doesn't work for shell scripts

Lutris seems to work. EGS specifically can be a bit of a pain though.
