I'm switching to Lemmy because Sync is making the switch
Same. Getting that confirmation a little while made me decide to try lemmy out at all
Yeah I'm new here and all, but definitely curious to see what Sync does for it.
I'll go wherever Sync goes. It was my favorite mobile client for any social app, regardless of the platform. Lemmy it is!
Anecdotally, I haven't logged in to Reddit in more than a month now. It's refreshing!
This. Sync was so nice to use that I find myself trying to use all the swipe actions sync had in all of the not so good lemmy apps currently available. None of them are as polished as sync was (and hopefully the lemmy version will be).

I genuinly think a good client can skyrocket the number of users. Even if users can just signup and browse all-active
Try Liftoff until Sync is ready - it's much smoother than Jerboa.
Just be mindful of the default 'All' view is literally all of the lemmyverse - via that view you can't interact with instances that you aren't logged on in.
Instead change it to be 'All@lemmy.world' to use it as normal.
Thunder is likely the closest to sync
Honestly I have mixed results and opinions with both Jerboa and Liftoff... Liftoff, for example, wouldn't even load a GIF that I posted when Jerboa would.
They currently also both randomly crash on me but I think that's most likely related to lemmy.world not being on version 0.18+ yet.

Absolutely buying the pro version the second it's available, Sync WAS reddit for me for the last 11 years.

Going to go straight for max pro bleeding edge beta demo for life version, rather than wait as long as I did with Sync.
Looking forward to pop-out subscription nav, floating action buttons, and ultra compact style options, and whatever other QOL improvements you have planned @ljdawson@lemmy.world
This is the way. The most used app on your phone is worth a dollarbuck or two.

Boost4Lemmy already put a placeholder into Google Play store so people can get notified when a first build drops.

Let's see where this goes. Most communities I switched over from Reddit to Lemmy are quite small at the moment, but with nice apps I imagine it will only grow.

My wallet is already waiting eagerly for a pro version.

I just installed Connect. Soooo much better than Jerboa and the mobile browser. Actually a much closer experience to Sync than I would have thought.
And I am already contributing so much more cause the experience is that much better. Hearty recommendation guys

Can't wait. I'm basically off reddit now cause your app doesn't work anymore. Happily will download when this comes out.
For those having issues getting the email form to:

- Submit once/if it is showing up
Disable your ad and tracker blockers for syncapps.io.
iFor me, AdGuard was blocking the form from showing up at all. Then, in Firefox, dev tools showed that the tracker tool was stopping the form from submitting. Once I disabled both things for the site, I was (hopefully) able to get it submitted. I got the "Thanks for signing up" notification on the site, anyway. I'm not sure if I was supposed to receive a confirmation email, so I'm just hopeful it worked.
Nothing happens when i press the 'Subscribe' button after writing in my e-mail address. Might be on my side the problem is. Have tried on 2 web browsers on my computer
EDIT: Now i'm subscribed via my smartphone.
Any chance you'd allow different billing than Google Play? I don't have Google Play Services and that's the reason I had to switch from Sync for Reddit.
I was a paid user since the early days. I think Sync has been very generous with its pricing and extra features and would like to see it continue. Wish you the best of luck!
