I guess but honestly don’t care about these files. I actually think all these Epstein stuff detracts from the main issues with inequality and a class war we need.

Sure it’s terrible for the victims of whoever is in these files, but honestly I’m sick of hearing about them.

The Epstein files are Trump’s Achilles Heel, and he knows it. They’re critically important because it is literally the only thing that can get through the MAGA media ecosystem to his base.

No other issue can. Everything else can be twisted, but pedo cabals are a founding cornerstone of MAGA politics.

Honestly, it’s all any opposition politician should talk about. Basically every public appearance should include a “by the way, where are the full Epstein files?” to keep it in the public’s mind.

As a contrast, see how fast the public forgot about Luigi.

Well we are never going to see them and even if we do then whose to say how they’ve been doctored. Honestly I’m sick of hearing about America, Trump, and Epstein.

Full disclosure I’m not in great headspace right now so maybe rattier than usual.

No, that’s fair.

I’m an American, and honestly I wish Lemmy was all non-US politics. Blocking /c/politics and a few other communities like it has done wonders for my feed.

I want to lurk in everyone else’s politics!

…That being said, you can understand why there’s such an Epstein obsession, I hope.

I wish other Americans felt the same and only lurked. Your fellow country(wo)men have a tendency to get involved in incredibly local issues that don't affect them in any way and it's infuriating.

For example, Scotland had to pass a law preventing protests outside abortion clinics. Not because Scots were protesting them but because Americans and American funded "charities" were doing so.

I filter out the words "Donald" "Trump" "Musk" and "Elon" in post titles, really improved my feed.

Considering adding OpenAI and Palantir.

I can understand why there is an obsession but I honestly think the whole thing is blown out of proportion, not the thing about paedophilia that sick and disgusting.

Just how widespread it is amongst the elites. I think it’s all political theatre as the establishment sees it as a non issue for most of them and it’s nice to have people obsessed with a non issue.

People like Stephen Hawking went to Epstein island are we saying he was a freak too? Occam’s razor would say that most people on that island would be innocent of the freaky shit. Money hangs around with money and Epstein seemed to have a lot of connections and so maybe it was a nice mixer.

You could ask how people didn’t know but perhaps they had a special area for VIP freaks and everybody else was somewhere else.

Not everybody ever pictured at a Diddy party was a freak, although rumours about that dude have been around for a while but still people might not have seen it themselves.

Of course a lot of it’s fake.

That’s the whole world now. Hype. Virility. Attention optimization. Influencing, whatever you want to call it. People know it, and are in on the game.

So of course people are knowingly overhyping up the Epstein thing because they know it will hurt Trump, because it’s QAnon catnip. Just like countless right wing influencers hyped it, too, making millions off of it, while the platforms they used made billions swaying whole countries.

Theres a course a lot of evidence of a lot of people in Epstein’s orbit, but no, clearly not every human being who stepped on the island knew what was going on. But it doesn’t matter, truth doesn’t matter; it’s just an attention game.

We should just assume that any details blacked out that aren't clearly about someone else, are about trump.

So I read this as, there are 550 pages of allegations against trump in the Epstein files.
