I want to lurk in everyone else's politics!

I wish other Americans felt the same and only lurked. Your fellow country(wo)men have a tendency to get involved in incredibly local issues that don't affect them in any way and it's infuriating.

For example, Scotland had to pass a law preventing protests outside abortion clinics. Not because Scots were protesting them but because Americans and American funded "charities" were doing so.

The word you want is countryfolk. That word includes everyone, not just the biggest two genders.
