I just... how... stabbed them both to death? I don't... I dont have words.

The guy was homeless by his early/mid teens, and there was some stuff in 2016 about how he never really bonded with his dad as a kid. I'm guessing his life was terrible and he felt his parents probably bear most of the responsibility for that. I could speculate further, but I don't really want to.

I mean... I dont like my folks, my early times were bad, but actually stabbing two people is... a lot.

With the mentally ill and addicted, it's difficult to understand what they're going through emotionally.

It's by definition outside of normal human experience.

He had lifetime mental health issues. From age 15, he was in and out of rehab 17 times. You love your kids no matter what.

Sometimes, parents need to believe they love their kids, even though they love themselves more. My dad abused me and refuses to even admit to any of it. He told me he wasn't perfect, but he did everything he did because he loved me. His love came with scars, figuratively and literally.

I don't know names is this the guy that was in The Wolf of Wall Street who had the British accent thing?

Yes, but he's better known for directing movies like This Is Spinal Tap, Stand By Me, The Princess Bride, and When Harry Met Sally.

Princess bride? What character?

[–] FlexibleToast@lemmy.world 16 points 3 months ago

Directed it. He did some acting, but was even better behind the camera.

He played the father of the DiCaprio character.

Famous for still preferring the bush.
