The same reddit that allowed to nuke my account based on false bot claims and then refused to roll it back even though the perpetrators conveniently deleted their accounts shortly afterwards? checks out

[–] 87Six@lemmy.zip 6 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

The same reddit that allows subreddit mods to get you banned site-wide on a whim

[–] BilSabab@lemmy.world 3 points 3 hours ago

i got my account nuked right after some burner account started asking me to add them to my sub. after politely declining, dude just went on comment bombing spree, so i banned him and them my account got stalked into permaban. Which is stupid because I don't post political stuff

semi controversial "popular" comic artist on reddit. she also has an onlyfans. I kinda feel people like her comics purely because of the other stuff she does. a sort of para-social "notice me senpai".

[–] Mulligrubs@lemmy.world 3 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

She's a cartoonist I've seen on Reddit, I personally don't find her funny, but I am not a cartoonist and I must scream

[–] FatVegan@leminal.space 8 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

She's also kind of a shit person and this comic is really quite ironic coming from her

[–] ameancow@lemmy.world 1 points 2 minutes ago

I have seen this sentiment before and nobody's been able to say exactly why she's a "shit person." What did she do?

[–] Gorilladrums@lemmy.world 12 points 8 hours ago (2 children)

I've only ever seen this message sent to harass people

[–] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 1 points 15 minutes ago

I figured that was the intended purpose.

[–] Mulligrubs@lemmy.world 3 points 5 hours ago

Agreed, I got many of these for being active in politics subs

[–] JustTheWind@lemmy.world 13 points 10 hours ago

I have only ever seen the "Harm prevention" report used exclusively for the purpose of harassment on Reddit. I'm talking like 99.99999% of the time. Everything about that: from the corporate flavored, performative bullshit to the superficially empathetic, and conspicuously caring, two-faced nature of the whole thing really pisses me off. I would prefer if they were just honest about not giving a fuck, frankly.

[–] Rhoeri@lemmy.world 23 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

This is ironic considering the source. Didn’t she go crying to Reddit admins to stop people from sharing anything negative about her? I recall people being banned for simply saying they through her comics were low-hanging-fruit and generic.

[–] rozodru@pie.andmc.ca 0 points 3 hours ago

yes. also a while ago I believe someone on Reddit came up with "proof" that she was also paying a PR type of company to upvote and post positive comments on her posts. Take it with a grain of salt but their proof was essentially people that would comment on her posts ONLY used reddit to comment on her comic posts.

Not a fan or her work or her onlyfans "work" but meh she does play the system well I'll give her that.

[–] cliffracer_cloaka@piefed.social -1 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Those shit comics is on here now too?

[–] DerisionConsulting@lemmy.ca 9 points 2 hours ago

"now" is odd phrasing from an 8 day old account.

I think I've seen this artist's work posted here for over a year.

[–] psx_crab@lemmy.zip 19 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Lol, that service do more harm than good, it's been used by others to harass people they don't like, and people who are suicidal doesn't really care about a bot reply. It's essentially useless gesture.

[–] WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today 6 points 10 hours ago

It's to protect Reddit from liability. Someone offing themselves is also the alleged reason for their zero tolerance policy.

[–] cupcakezealot@piefed.blahaj.zone 20 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

which is ironic since those messages originate from people doing it to harass people

[–] mojofrododojo@lemmy.world 13 points 15 hours ago

the only time I've seen reddit cares deployed was by chuds harassing people.

[–] qevlarr@lemmy.world 28 points 17 hours ago (3 children)

Anyone else had this bot sent to them as harassment in itself? Fucking disgusting

[–] cliffracer_cloaka@piefed.social 3 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Many times. Interestingly enough, mostly after being critical towards the alt-right (Nazis, Fascists, MAGA).

The perfidious idea is to remind potential suicides about the possibility. Imagine being that hateful.

[–] Lemminary@lemmy.world 1 points 3 hours ago

Got one for the same reasons.

[–] WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today 2 points 10 hours ago

I had it sent legitimately by people. Obviously, I was a wreck.

[–] Catoblepas@piefed.blahaj.zone 10 points 16 hours ago

It made me laugh when it was in response to someone getting mad at me after arguing, but occasionally I’d make a highly upvoted comment that was related to being trans or gay and then get them, and that pissed me off. It’s not possible to prove that’s what happened without access to server logs of course, but I for sure wasn’t talking about being depressed or suicidal or anything like that on Reddit, and it was suspicious at minimum.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 2 points 10 hours ago* (last edited 10 hours ago)

dint they suggest drugs. i would suggest just blocking unsolicted advice or Dms.

[–] Sibshops@lemmy.myserv.one 74 points 22 hours ago (4 children)

It's fun that it's been weaponized to report people who you don't like.

[–] OpenStars@piefed.social 2 points 3 hours ago

SUPER duper, SO fun!🤪

[–] yermaw@sh.itjust.works 34 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

"Someone thinks you may be suicidal" translates to "you hurt someone's feelings at some point"

The more people that leave Reddit and get on Lemmy the better.

[–] ILikeBoobies@lemmy.ca 38 points 20 hours ago (27 children)

Metahumour/inside jokes for a different website/community doesn’t work.

[–] mesamunefire@piefed.social 4 points 10 hours ago

It would be nice if we didn't bring reddits controversies over here. We got real stuff to talk about. Not some he said / she said deal.

Oh, PC is in no position to criticise Reddit for spreading snark and negativity.

[–] nexguy@lemmy.world 11 points 17 hours ago

No one said snark is bad, just some of the things snarky subreddits allow.
