"where applicable, DNA"?

I'd be fascinated to know under what circumstances DNA wouldn't be applicable. Are they anticipating golems coming through passport control?

[–] MapleEngineer@lemmy.world 39 points 3 weeks ago

That's a hard, "No." from me.

CBP: We will deny you entry.

Me: So you're going to send me home to spend the week with my family instead of going to a boring company meeting in LA? Don't threaten me with a good time.

Damn. Well as someone from the country of Europe I can say I have no desire to go to the States any time soon.

This is again so contradictory. North America hosts the FIFA world cup, a sport that originated in Europe and is still by far the most popular there. I assume the reason to organize this is money and to push that peace price propaganda bullshit (did anyone really fall for that?) and then you make it more difficult for Europeans to attend this event?

It just feels like they've completely lost it.

FIFA the organization has always been a bunch of shit. They're just more comfortable with fascistic models of "leadership," it's why they like Trump so much. He's getting away with all the stuff they would like to get away with, and they want to cozy up to his fetid little orbit. They don't give a fuck about the fans. If half the people have to miss the games because they don't want to get immigrationed, that's just the price they will have to pay for disobeying their masters. The FIFA leadership definitely won't be taking pay cuts if the ticket sales are down a little.

And yes don't come to the fucking United States right now. The goal of this on the Trump side, I think, is to drive away through harassment any individual who doesn't want to show obedience and subject themselves to humiliation. As always, act 3 will be when some other place in the world takes over as the popular place to be for people who have abilities and self respect, which hastens the US's collapse into a Soviet-style wreckage of infamy and ruin.

It just feels like they've completely lost it.

If we consider that it's all done on purpose to discredit and ruin the country, it makes a lot more sense.

My last trip to the US was 2016. I have no intention to visit again anytime soon. It's a nice country, unbelievably large if you're from Europe. But the current regime can fuck right off.

In case anyone was still planning to visit, this ought to deter them. With all the tariffs, our economy is doing too well now. Tourism dollars would just spoil us.

Full stop, a violation of the 4th amendment.

[–] titanicx@lemmy.zip 1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

It doesn't apply to non citizens....

[–] kryptonianCodeMonkey@lemmy.world 13 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (1 children)

You're wrong. It does. Or rather, it is meant to. The rights and protections in the constitution apply to every man, woman and child on US soil.

[–] titanicx@lemmy.zip 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

This is meant for those not yet on us soil. Also that's laughable, because it has never meant that, had never been applied like that, and never will be. Just ask any minority.

And also there's like exemption for a ridiculous distance from all port of entries including airports right?

[–] titanicx@lemmy.zip 1 points 3 weeks ago

Used to be 150 miles, now it's like 500i think.

[–] DaddleDew@lemmy.world 7 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I'm calling it: Next up they'll make visitors wear ankle bracelets.

[–] notabot@piefed.social 5 points 3 weeks ago

In many way I think that would be preferable to the invasive data grab approach. At least you can remove the bracelet when you leave. Unfortunately, I suspect they'll just do both.

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 5 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

So we're basically closing the inbound borders? I know the dumbass voters think America can stand alone, but the puppet masters surely have more sense?

[–] llama@lemmy.zip 4 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I guess so until we can figure out how to give photos an IP address
