Man I hope it is a crpg. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure Larian could make an amazing third person action game, but there are tons of 3P arpg of varying degrees of quality and production value. There are very few crpgs of good quality and good production value.

I do appreciate that someone on the team comping that shot stopped and thought, "This horse should be shitting itselve".
I was kind of put off by the human sacrifice and all the vomit and shitting but they got me back with hot lizard sex.
Yep, after BG3, they could release two steaming piles of shit in a row and I'd still take a chance on their third.
Problem with the name Divinity is that is not necessary like the Original Sin with CRPG, it could be a third person like Divinity 2 or a action-rpg like Divine Divinity or Beyond Divinity.
Imagine if they end up going with a Dragon Commander spinoff lol.
Kinda hoping for something with the action point system of OS2 myself but I bet it’s more like what you’re saying: third person action or arpg.
The previews for dragon commander were awesome, with floating fortress, and lots of cool story lines, like the undead religious fanatics wanting to overthrow their gods. Such a shame all of that got cut.
Their last 3 games have been CRPGs so imo they can do whatever they want.
I don't think anything's ever really held them back but BG3's success and Sven's monarchical authority really does mean they'll do whatever the fuck they feel like doing. Which is probably for the best. If this is another Dragon Guy Action Game it will probably turn out better than if they churned D:OS3 out of obligation.
As long as it's not a live service I'll play it.
