Any politics anywhere in the world. Inevitably it'll be 99% US stuff, but that's not a rule.

This community works differently to how most politics communities work. It has strict rules designed to facilitate productive discussion. You can be rude, to a point, but you can't participate in bad faith:

The idea is to make the discussion productive. Let's see how it works. Maybe this is a fool's errand but IDK how any set of moderation could be worse than lemmy.world.

In Nov 2024, this district voted for a Republican with a 21.5% lead. Now in Dec 2025, they voted in a Republican but with an 8.9% margin.

That 12.6% swing to the left in TN has to be making a bunch of Republicans planning to run for the 2026 midterms feel a bit nervous.

So they found a way to cheat, or Tennessee voters are fucking morons? Which is it Tennessee?

Both. Tennessee has been voting the vile bitch Marsha Blackburn into Congress for 22 straight years, previously in the same damn seat Epps just won. But Tennessee's 7th is also highly gerrymandered to split up Nashville and allow enough surrounding rural counties to overrule the metro vote that's overwhelmingly left leaning. So there's plenty of fucking morons, but also they're cheating.
