I watched & liked season 1

Is it worth watching the rest ?

[–] Skavau@piefed.social 19 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Both seasons are an improvement on Season 1.

[–] FlexibleToast@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Are they? I think I fizzled out in either season 2 or 3. I really liked season 1 though.

Both seasons 2 and 3 have amazing moments. Lee Pace (Day) and Laura Birn (Demerzel) are just phenomenal. And the season 3 finale is completely unhinged!

As far as I was concerned, Brother Day was the only reason to keep watching the show. I'll probably pick it back up at some point.

[–] faintwhenfree@lemmus.org 8 points 4 months ago

Well brother Dusk will surprise you. Also honestly even brother dawn has his moments in season 3, weeks before before his ascension.

It’s a mixed bag. Some seasons are better than others. But it’s still better than most of the crap that’s on streaming these days.

I loved each season and was gutted when I realized I had hit the end of what had been made. Super excited for another season!!!

I'm a big fan

We lost raised by wolves and foundation keeps going?

Don't get me wrong. I like foundation. But it isn't.... great. It's good, solid high concept scifi. And I like it. But it's not groundbreaking.

I hope Apple somehow brings raised by wolves back. I need comics or a video game or SOMETHING.

DADDY NEEDS HIS MEDICINE.

[–] Skavau@piefed.social 6 points 4 months ago (2 children)

Raised by Wolves was HBO. Different networks, different standards.

[–] krooklochurm@lemmy.ca 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Yeah I know.

Warner bros. Discovery is in the process of being sold and I've read that Apple is on the list of potential buyers.

Seems like the kind of prestige project they'd fund. If they bought Warner discovery.

Might have been too long now.

We will see

If there is anything hbo can be counted on doing, it’s cancelling something good. I mean, it’s that or letting something run long enough to ruin itself.

[–] zaphod@sopuli.xyz 1 points 4 months ago

letting something run long enough to ruin itself.

American television in a nutshell.

[–] Nanook@lemmy.zip 1 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Quick change it for Constellation, then it’ll work.

Raised by wolves had like 3 good episodes total

[–] krooklochurm@lemmy.ca 2 points 4 months ago

YOU GO TO HELL.

YOU GO TO HELL AND YOU DIE.

[–] WormFood@lemmy.world 7 points 4 months ago (1 children)

the books did have a plot, but each one was spilt into short stories/novellas that focused on different characters, separated by timeskips. in fact the first book is made of five short stories which would've each made for 45-60 minutes of TV.

[–] agamemnonymous@sh.itjust.works 2 points 4 months ago

I would have preferred a truer adaptation, with each story being an episode or two. I think they assumed people wouldn't be invested with constantly changing characters.

[–] WormFood@lemmy.world 3 points 4 months ago (1 children)

foundation might be a worse Asimov adaption than i robot

[–] cassandrafatigue@lemmy.dbzer0.com -1 points 4 months ago

But the books didn't have a plot, so a good adaptation just wouldn't work

[–] BobQuasit@beehaw.org 2 points 4 months ago

Jesus H. Christ! Hasn't poor Asimov suffered ENOUGH?!?
