This is exactly the reason why collecting data about race and religion of people is illegal in France since WWII.
And in the Netherlands too. We're very wary about registering religion or background even today.
Check out his Wikipedia. After joining the Dutch anti-Nazi resistance, he partnered up with a radical periodical editor and a lesbian resistance fighter to start producing fake ID cards. They blew up the Records Office because thats who was able to verify the legitimacy (or lack there of) of said ID cards.
