Whenever I'm sick I will always just put on The Venture Bros. while I recover. The show spanned so many years, makes me feel better watching the show evolve and remembering what point in my life I was in when various episodes aired.

I will watch a Joy of Painting episode anytime I come across one on PBS (they stream on YouTube but itβs more fun to find it βin the wildβ)
They had it on the tv when I went to lunch a few weeks ago. Watching it was way better than any of the sports on the other walls.
Probably not weird but an episode or two of MAS*H will always make me feel better
So many I guess.
- classic 80s/90s sitcoms (Cheers, Friends, Family Matters, the Nanny, etc)
- classic Simpsons
- 90s/00s PBS kids shows (Wishbone, Reading Rainbow, Clifford, etc)
- Bluey
- British shows (Keeping Up Appearances)
Bluey. I'm an adult and don't have children. It's my guilty pleasure.
Bluey is fantastic. My partner is from australia, and every time we are waiting in a pediatrician's waiting room, we love it when it's on the telly. He says he could start a side business smuggling bluey items from oz to here.
You might enjoy Hilda if you like Bluey. Those are my two comfort shows.
Sat doen and watched a bunch of the new Quantum Leap the other day while feeling lonely, and that felt pretty good.
Yes Minister / Yes Prime Minister for me. Despite all the scheming the humour is so good-natured throughout.
Detectorists. A delightfully quaint and funny series.
Psych is always my go to cozy show.
There really is something to the humble procedural drama
I also really like Monk and Elsbeth. I like my procedural dramas as long as they have a wacky Sherlock type, I suppose.
I should really read Sherlock haha.
If you haven't already, check out Ludwig.
If you like psych like I did then High Potential on Hulu is really good and I love the main actress and her energy
Oh I forgot about this one. Also really enjoyed it.
Do they ever not?
have a wacky Sherlock Type
Iβm not well versed on Law & Order, CSI, or anything like that, but I donβt think so.
Hey, you hear about Pluto?
Come on, son!
Star Trek The Next Generation
Modern Family
Dexter
Ghosts (Both versions)
LOST (right up until just before the end)
I'm doing a Dexter rewatch over the holidays. Apparently there are a bunch of sequels/prequels now and I wanna refresh my memory before diving into those shows.;
From, horror show From, it's so nice to binge watch it. It's not like true horror but it is like mix of horror, mistery and fantasy and it is so funny to binge watch it and think about all sorts of theorise as to why that place even exist.
It's so good for being such low budget compared to a lot of shows
Scrubs, it's my comfort show when feeling down.
Except the Ben saga and the whole Dr Cox breaks down bit.
They are absolutely not for when youre feeling down.
Great for when you need to cry, though.
I find the Simpsons to be kind of a cozy show. Also Friends, how I met your mother. I find animation to be pretty cozy.
Oddly enough, Emergency! (1972). There's something reassuring about it.
Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist is very relaxing and cozy. And it's all available on YouTube.
And, of course, The Waltons.
The Waltons and Little House on the Prairie are both amazing for slowing things down, altho they can also be a bit emotionally draining sometimes too.
I love how they provide positive role models both for parents and children in terms of how to love and honor each other and communicate to solve problems rather than just fighting and other dumb shit we were forced to endure as children with parents opposite of those in these series
Their children understand the parents only ask what is needed for them to survive and ensure their healthy development, theres nothing selfish about the parenting approaches, they genuinely want the best for the children and to hold their hands as they walk together finding it
100 feet of silk rope
Supernatural
The Magicians
Resident Alien
The Expanse
NCIS. We started watching the franchise with NCIS: HawaiΚ»i, mostly because I support the film industry back home and love the scenery. From there, we watched the crossover episodes of the other shows, started but didnβt quite finish NCIS: New Orleans, then started the original show from the beginning until getting caught up last year. Now I throw on past episodes as background.
Whatβs funny is I assumed the spin-offs had to be crazier than the original because they must have had to escalate the storylines over time. Completely missed that call. That first season of NCIS is insane.
The very first episodes start with a banger. The corpse stealing and Mossad killers are just so intense π
