I think is an interesting show but I'm not really that engaged.

Because it's innovative and not a rehash of an old stale franchise which is all Hollywood is now doing.

2025 will be the lowest box office revenues in history aside from covid lockdown era. No one wants to watch garbage.

So far, the 2025 box office (top 200 movies) has made $17B compared to 2024's total of $22B or 2022's total of $21B. However, most of the largest movies of the year have not released yet, including Zootopia 2, Wicked: For Good (actually releasing tonight), Five Nights at Freddy's 2, a new Spongebob Squarepants movie, Hamnet with Pedro Pascal, Rental Family with Brendan Frasier, and the new Avatar: Fire and Ash (and a bunch of other movies). https://www.boxofficemojo.com/year/world/2025/

Anecdotally, I've enjoyed a lot of the movies this year, namely Bugonia. Angel's Egg also got a 4k remaster and release in the US this week.

Bugonia was great!

I’ve been enjoying it a lot

I watched the free pilot and I'm intrigued. Not enough to give Apple money though.

The pilot is absolute piece of art and in traditional Gilligan style. But EP 2 and 3 are not the same. They are nice don't get me wrong, but they are not sitting at the edge of my scene unable to look away episodes anymore.

So free pilot was clearly the hook they want to get people to pay money while upcoming episodes are slow and normal. I mean it's fine, but just making pilot free seemed like the shday tactic for me. In any case, I have my sources and didn't pay Apple my money.

I dunno, as someone who feels the pace makes sense, ep1 included, I don’t think it’s some sort of ploy. It’s just narrative structure.

Yeah, Vince always wrote in this style. You’d have moments of extreme tension in one episode, then a guy throwing a pizza on his roof in the next.
