Very good news especially since they use EAC. Hopefully this sets a precedent that other developers follow and not just the same thing we've seen over and over of "sorry, too many cheaters on linux with only 0.1% playerbase so we cant afford to support it now"

Don't worry, I'm doing my part being one of the 0.1% on bazzite o7

This is impressive!

I’ve mostly been playing this on desktop Linux. I think the only thing they were working on was handheld optimization and interface tweaks.

There’s still one annoying bug - on Windows, the game shows a notification if a match starts while the game is off focus. On Linux, at the moment this notification would show (if alt tabbed) the game freezes.

[–] HERRAX@sopuli.xyz 3 points 3 days ago

Weirdly that notification works and does not freeze the game for me, running CachyOS on AMD HW with proton experimental. It did freeze the game once but that hasn't happened since a few days after launch for me

Helldivers 2 is also steam deck verified...and it runs like ass on anything non trivial difficulty

Can anyone confirm if this is ACTUALLY verified?

You could run it fine before, it just required experimental.

Your not going to be high quality at 60fps, but it's certainly serviceable.

That's incredible. There's so many multiplayer games that don't work on Steam Deck because of their garbage DRM.

Awesome news

Bought it yesterday. Been enjoying it so far. What settings are you guys running and how’s battery life? I suspect battery problems on my deck, I got MAYBE 20 minutes out of it before it shut down in my second mission.

[–] radiouser@crazypeople.online 1 points 3 days ago

Awesome! Okay, I'm buying this now 😁

Good. Too bad a this PVE game turned in to a PVP game and not a very good one.

Refunded and hoping that they tweak it a bit, but I'm not keeping my hopes up.

[–] trashgirlfriend@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago (1 children)

The combat is fun, and its an extraction shooter idk what people who bought it for pve were expecting

[–] f314@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago

They’re probably referring to the fact that the game was intended to be PvE some time during its development. Other than that, I don’t know.. Game looks pretty great as far as I can tell from watching some streams!
