Data centres usually have an excess of heat and need significant cooling, which will always be provided by electricity regardless of this law.
And that electricity has to be a sure thing. Shit when they are doing even routine maintenance they run generators because it’s more reliable than grid power.
I didn't think of generation on-site with gas, but you are probably right.
