Comment history doesn't seem very AI/botty to me.
But maybe it is me that is the not.
IDK... They seem like your average low IQ dumbass more than a bot.
I heard the opposite, that separating them ripens them quicker. In my experience this appears to be true.
There's just no way to know! It's impossible for a lone person to generate even a single data point.
What if they do both a thousand times and record results and variables?
A single person could just use each strategy with half of their bananas each time.

I've also read keeping them in the produce bag helps

Even better: Freeze them!!! Seriously, it tastes like banana ice cream. It's delicious!
can you post a picture of what the single banana looks like? how much stem do you leave on each one? nothing? so the tip of the edible fruit is showing?

Yeah, wouldn't the increased surface area increase the release of gas making everything ripen faster?
The breakage may cause a loss of moisture and cause a reduction in the amount of stem with enough moisture to produce gas?
Or, ya know, you can just wrap some cellophane around the bunch of stems, and wrap that with a rubber band for extra measure.
Anyways, side note, if you eat a banana (mmm tasty), well mosquitoes will be more attracted to you...
I have type-o blood. I'm already irresistible to mosquitoes, and I'm embarrassed at how long it took me to realize my wife was counting on this when we walked in the woods.

One of the chemicals that gives bananas their smell is also released when a honey bee stings you, signaling other bees to attack.

I wouldn't put it out of the realm of possibility, there have also been cases of large swarms of mosquitoes killing cows, hopefully we're a little more peaceful before someone figures out how to use things like this as a weapon

My girlfriend breaks them apart into singles and then wraps the calyx of each banana (the place where they all were joined....I'm not sure that calyx is the correct word) with aluminum foil. I don't know if the foil makes any difference though.
You need to wipe it in honey first, and cover the honey in cinnamon. Then take a toothpick and push it through the center of that. Then, kid you not, chocolate syrup. Put it in the freezer and it’ll last a millennium.
I can't tell if you are fucking with me right now. But that sounds delicious so I'm going to try it anyway.
It might be delicious if we weren't talking about the inedible fibrous stump of a banana peel.
Update: the stem/whatever it is of a banana, even when slathered with multiple delicious things, is in fact still disgusting.
She seems to think that wrapping the stump in foil protects the rest of the fruit. I don't see how it would, but I just roll with it. Her parents do it too. They are all from a completely different culture so I just shrug and smile.
