Bulbasaur. Years ago, I mentioned he looked like a garlic bulb so my kid gave me her plastic toy Bulbasaur and now he sits on the windowsill as the patron saint of my kitchen.

Ho-oh. I don't know why but it's been my favorite ever since I first saw it

My favorite Pokémon has been poliwag ever since I played Pokémon blue for the first time. He so adorable and becomes a very powerful Pokémon. I remember catching him early on in Crystal version and making him my starter Pokémon.

Totodile. Elementary school me picked him at random when I played HeartGold (still hadn't wrapped my head around the whole touchscreen thing IIRC) and I loved the little guy.

Mine is also Gengar! (if the profile pic didn't give it away)

Munchlax, Drifblim, and Beedrill. and i, much like every disaffected child in the 2000's, wanted Entei to be my dad.

Snorlax. He's just so relatable.

[-] blake24964@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Bidoof is the best, sweet little guys. Who only gey dunked on nearly as bad as Magikarp.

[-] cccc@aussie.zone 1 points 1 year ago

Sylveon, but I’ve got a soft spot for the Gen 1 starters too.

[-] SacredHeartAttack@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Psyduck! C'mon, he's a duck with a headache.

[-] dasprii@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Houndoom! With Bulbasaur as closed 2nd.

[-] UnperfectOne@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

Rayquaza. It looks cool, it's powerful and it has a cool role. What's not to love? Plus, it's one of the few Pokémon with a good looking shiny.

[-] tvmole@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 year ago

Always wanted a pet Wingull since I played Emerald. I need to evolve it if it's actually going to fight though

As a child I trained a Kadabra to level 100 because another kid told me this is when it evolved.

Nope! We did eventually trade back and forth - but those 2 minutes of my newly evolved level 100 Alakazam on my friend's cartridge demanded an insane level of trust between two 10 year olds. That shit was intense!

Laughed so much at this, thanks
