I wonder why he was murdered.

[–] nymnympseudonym@piefed.social 44 points 3 days ago (1 children)

For the first time I think it's more likely than not that Trump ordered the hit

[–] redsand@lemmy.dbzer0.com 32 points 3 days ago

Bill Barr. Trump is so stupid the chronies around him just do things. This seems like the kind of thing Trump might not have taken seriously but Bill had him wacked to be safe.

[–] Pistcow@lemmy.world 88 points 3 days ago (2 children)

There's going to be a VHS of Trump railing a 12 year old girl while she holds her birth certificate and his supporters will call it a hoax.

[–] anomnom@sh.itjust.works 16 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Probably why trump is posting so much AI slop now, to get out ahead of the truth when it actually drops.

[–] Nollij@sopuli.xyz 7 points 3 days ago (1 children)

That's a far more rational and intelligent plan than I think he is capable of. Especially now that his dementia has kicked into high gear.

[–] anomnom@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 days ago

He has plenty of tactical assholes on his team doing this for him. The Charlie Kirk video from the Oval Office desk was a clearly AI manipulated one. And who knows who is really running his shitty social accounts.

[–] 100_kg_90_de_belin@feddit.it 2 points 2 days ago

They will call it a hoax because it's a cult. If they are not MAGA they are nothing.

"Recall ive told you,, -- i have met some very bad people ,, none as bad as trump. not one decent cell in his body.. so yes- dangerous."

Says the pedophilic trafficking blackmailer...

"These emails prove absolutely nothing, other than the fact that President Trump did nothing wrong," White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said.

.... Uhhuh ....

It’s actually kind of wild to see that even this waste of life, somehow not only had enough of an understanding of consensus morality to realize what he was doing was cruel and evil, but that somehow Trump is much worse.

That’s like the state of Wisconsin calling someone out for having a drinking problem or John Wayne calling you a chauvinist asshole

[–] Nollij@sopuli.xyz 7 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I'm pretty sure Epstein rationalized it to himself, and convinced himself that he wasn't doing anything wrong.

I say that because no one is the bad guy in their own head. No matter what everyone else says, you will always be the one acting morally and justly.

But yes, it's pretty telling that even he couldn't stand Trump.

[–] cmbabul@slrpnk.net 2 points 3 days ago

I considered putting that in my original comment, we don’t and can’t know for sure, but i tend to agree with you that he lied to himself

[–] Wytch@lemmy.zip 66 points 3 days ago

"yes thx," Epstein responded. "its wild. because i am the one able to take him down."

Someone powerful figured that out, but we already guessed that.

[–] XeroxCool@lemmy.world 45 points 3 days ago

Just in time for "every picture I don't like is AI"

[–] Bonifratz@piefed.zip 44 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Yikes. Release the files but please don't release a pic of Trump in a bikini!

[–] titanicx@lemmy.zip 4 points 3 days ago

Maga base jerking furiously.....

[–] MourningDove@lemmy.zip 39 points 3 days ago (1 children)

That’s some pretty clear evidence that Trump had him suicided.

[–] FishFace@piefed.social 9 points 3 days ago (1 children)

How?

We already knew trump was associated with known child trafficker Epstein, which was motivation to keep him quiet. This is barely more motivation, never mind clear evidence.

Clear evidence would allow you to know that trump had Epstein killed rather than anyone else, and obviously there are many other powerful people who would have a similar motivation.

[–] MourningDove@lemmy.zip 15 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (2 children)

I’m guessing you missed this part? Was way at the bottom.

In a Dec. 3, 2018 exchange over iMessage, someone whose name is redacted wrote to Epstein, "It will all blow over! They're really just trying to take down Trump and doing whatever they can to do that...!"

The context of this message is unclear.

"yes thx," Epstein responded. "its wild. because i am the one able to take him down."

[–] FishFace@piefed.social 18 points 3 days ago

That is clear evidence that Epstein thought he was able to harm Trump. Not that he actually could, not that Trump believed he could, not that Trump considered him any more of a threat than the evidence we already have implies, not that Trump ordered a hit, nor that, if he did, that hit was carried out.

Look, we're all here because we know Trump is filthy, but come on. This isn't "clear evidence." People who think it is just Want To Believe™.

[–] otp@sh.itjust.works 5 points 3 days ago

This isn't "clear evidence" of what you're claiming.

That's like someone saying "I ate some fries yesterday" and concluding "That's clear evidence you went to McDonalds"

[–] yarr@feddit.nl 10 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I didn't think Donald would fit in a bikini. Well, if he's got the photos, who am I to disagree?

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Sure he would. Not all fat chicks are busty. He's what a 50B?

[–] cosmicrookie@lemmy.world 22 points 3 days ago (3 children)

Imagine being a reporter, and saying no to those pictures. The price of those pictures would have been crazy today! Better than any NFT crap there ever has been

[–] pulsewidth@lemmy.world 12 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Bud the bananas I bought last week are worth more than 98% of NFTs

[–] Speculater@lemmy.world 9 points 3 days ago (2 children)

I know a few people that to this day, trade NFTs and think they're valuable. They have weird little cults/clubs that have timed released drops, exclusive follow-on drops that you need to earn keys to have the right to purchase, these keys are earned by purchasing in sequential drops.

It's cray cray.

[–] pulsewidth@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago

Sunk cost fallacy can be a tough cognitive trap to evade

[–] OhVenus_Baby@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I think NFTs in the very long-term likely hundred years or more even hundreds of years before they posess mass use. Similar to inter galactic space trade and multi planetary interaction of goods. As a way to trade posessions and assets without tangibly having said asset in person. Everyone would have a portfolio of assets so to say. It makes trading, buy, selling, every good no matter its price or size possible. Of course we would need a 3rd party asset manager for logistics but I think there's merit.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

I feel like that would just replicate 16th century commerce where traders and their financiers possess the product. Barring warp speeds though you'd need an entire governance built around multi generational trade like LeGuinn's Ekumin or League of All Worlds. NFTs lack the mechanisms to enforce ownership, whereas whatever can tie the token to the material good will be sufficiently trusted to keep a ledger

NFTs seem like they probably started as a dare/bet between bored rich people like Peter Thiel to see how far they could really take this before anybody actually noticed.
