Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Oooo I can't wait for that thing to happen. We will all be alive to witness it. It will be a day of celebration and healing.

[–] sem@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 hour ago

I get it now. He just wants to be a bad guy, wrestler, just like Andy Kaufmann.

[–] Gammelfisch@lemmy.world 2 points 3 hours ago

How much did the shit show cost US taxpayers?

Was at a bar watching NFL with the bros when they kept showing his fucking face.

We tried to ignore it at first but they just kept showing it.

We started loudly booing. At one point I shouted "WHY AM I BEING FORCED TO STARE AT A FELON RAPIST JUST TO WATCH FOOTBALL?"

This bar is in California, but I guarantee some conservatives were there. Too bad. They're filth and are putting felons and rapists on television during football games. I don't give a fuck if it hurts their feeling for me to say this shit in a public space. Decorum goes out the window when you're forcing sports fans to sit and listen to a convicted felon, adjudicated rapist, and insurrectionist.

The NFL is getting pretty fucking gross. Just in the last few weeks they've put a felon rapist on the air, one of their ex-quarterbacks stabbed an old man, and a new player ran from the cops and then blew his brains out.

The fuck is going on with that organization?

[–] stringere@sh.itjust.works 1 points 36 minutes ago

One could stop supporting an already problematic organization.

[–] alekwithak@lemmy.world 6 points 3 hours ago

You can destroy my country, subjugate it's people, but don't you dare mess with my football!

[–] Sculptor9157@sh.itjust.works 11 points 8 hours ago

I feel like the problems you listed with the NFL have always been there, you may have just glazed over them since it only involved the organization and players\coaches and not a president.

Is there a word for that gesture that he keeps making with his fist there? I feel like he thinks it's a flex but just outs him as a dictator.

[–] JustAnotherKay@lemmy.world 1 points 2 hours ago

I don’t think he can raise his arm that high

[–] oopsgodisdeadmybad@lemmy.zip 6 points 8 hours ago

There it is. And it's as bad as I thought.

[–] billwashere@lemmy.world 7 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

Yeah I believe it’s sign language for “I’m an incredibly narcissistic asshole”

[–] oopsgodisdeadmybad@lemmy.zip 3 points 9 hours ago

No that's when he falls asleep on camera and then goes up by standing awkwardly as people pass out next to him. xD

I think it’s his fight pose for when he got his ear caught on some ketchup

[–] oopsgodisdeadmybad@lemmy.zip 1 points 10 hours ago

I swear I've seen people before him do it.

I absolutely love that they included a wider shot in the article that most people probably scrolled past, but I caught this in it:

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 5 points 11 hours ago

"He says I'm number one!"

[–] mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca 74 points 1 day ago (1 children)
[–] MeThisGuy@feddit.nl 6 points 11 hours ago

well he's not kneeling

This should be its own post

[–] W3dd1e@lemmy.zip 45 points 22 hours ago

If the Federal Government is shutdown all of the secret service agents should be sent home. I bet Mike Johnson would end the shutdown really quickly if he and trump couldn’t party while everyone else is struggling to feed their kids

[–] DagwoodIII@piefed.social 73 points 1 day ago (7 children)

[off topic?]

For those who didn't know, Donald previously screwed up an entire football league by trying to overleverage.

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 4 points 8 hours ago

Yup.

Americans would have year round professional football if it wasn't for Donald Trump.

It was small potatoes…

[–] LordMayor@piefed.social 36 points 1 day ago

He did that after trying to buy an NFL team but getting denied by at every attempt by NFL management.

It's sort of amusing that the profound psychological issues that make him the most corrupt POTUS in history, the most self-absorbed POTUS in history, the most dishonest POTUS in history and the most deranged POTUS in history also make him the most tone-deaf POTUS in history.

[–] CileTheSane@lemmy.ca 3 points 9 hours ago

At least I know he is always fucking miserable that he doesn't have more. (More money, more popularity, more praise)
