Is this real?

If so, that woman is a fucking legend.

[–] frunch@lemmy.world 69 points 4 days ago

It's real, and she is a fucking legend 🥂

[–] FosterMolasses@leminal.space 16 points 3 days ago

That lady is indeed a legend.

The Epstein files are the distraction. Republicans dismantle democracy while people fight over the files.

Imagine doing something so horrible that you underage prostitutes as a smokescreen.

[–] tomiant@piefed.social 28 points 3 days ago

It's kind of all interwoven. They are pedophiles, who are dismantling democracy, while stealing unprecedented amounts of wealth in human history, while persecuting minorities, while praising god.

[–] _stranger_@lemmy.world 23 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Not "underage prostitutes", like they had any real agency is getting groomed and traded by billionaires, but children. He fucked children.

[–] HulkSmashBurgers@reddthat.com 22 points 3 days ago

Raped. He raped children.

I've been saying this because I started to feel a rising sense of hopeless frustration every time the administration or Miller has destroyed some sacred institution or started scooping cash from needy families, you would invariably see someone, especially on Lemmy start spamming memes about "That's cool bro, what about the epstein files?" as if anyone still cares when they're starving and jobless or healthcare premiums have been driven up to a thousand dollars a month for someone on minimum wage.

We are truly in the scummiest, stupidest timeline when an authoritarian can shield himself from accountability just by having child sex crimes hanging over him.

[–] tomiant@piefed.social 4 points 3 days ago

A sex felon.

Wow it kind of made me vomit a little saying that.

[–] Mongostein@lemmy.ca 6 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Releasing the files would give a lot of evidence to jail the people destroying democracy. They go hand-in-hand because it’s the same people.

[–] Corkyskog@sh.itjust.works 3 points 3 days ago

It also focuses rage. It's something everybody can agree on.

[–] Rhaedas@fedia.io 92 points 4 days ago (1 children)

[–] dmention7@midwest.social 42 points 4 days ago

Started as a cover for not swearing in our new Congresswoman from Arizona, spun out of control.

We need to stop talking TRUMP. We need to start talking REPUBLICANS did this. Want lasting change? Stop aiming for the dementia patient cult leader. He'll die soon enough and blame will shift. Stop aiming at individual targets and shotgun this thing.

Stop talking "conservatives". Both anti-Trump and anti-conservative messaging is a personal attack, and they'll resist. Say, "The REPUBLICANS did this. REPUBLICANS are to blame."

These people have no loyalty to "Republicans". Hit them where they can fold up and agree. "I'm not the bad guy. My guy isn't the bad guy. It's those damned Republicans! If it weren't for those meddling kids!"

[–] inbeesee@lemmy.world 25 points 3 days ago (1 children)

This needs to replace the template with Crowder

[–] tigeruppercut@lemmy.zip 7 points 3 days ago

Just want to mention that I had 2 seconds of thinking crowder was the guy whose ideology ended bleeding out of his neck bc all these shitty con grifters are pretty much the same people and end up being interchangeable in my memory meat.

Wonder if his college tour schedule has changed much in the past couple months

[–] CatZoomies@lemmy.world 61 points 4 days ago

Fucking badass. This is the attitude we need from our representatives.

[–] FosterMolasses@leminal.space 28 points 3 days ago

What a fucking legend lmao

[–] Gerudo@lemmy.zip 54 points 3 days ago

Is this hope I keep tasting the last few days?

Mamdani wins, Pelosi stepping down, dems winning multiple races, reps doing things like this....

[–] SlartyBartFast@sh.itjust.works 17 points 3 days ago

[–] tornavish@lemmy.cafe 26 points 4 days ago

America, saved by a meme. It might work.

[–] psycho_driver@lemmy.world 11 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Did you know Mr. Johnson's nickname in high school was 'Tiny'?

[–] tomiant@piefed.social 9 points 3 days ago (1 children)

They called him Tiny Johnson?

[–] WarmSoda@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago

That's a dick move

[–] Wilco@lemmy.zip 15 points 3 days ago

No one can change her mind. Reality is reality.

Republicans are the party of pedophiles.

[–] GladiusB@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago

I love what Newsome inspired from candidates

[–] LegoBrickOnFire@lemmy.world 8 points 3 days ago (5 children)

Would releasing the Epstein files matter in anyway for Trump? Everyone that can be swayed by evidence already knows Trump is in there...

And the stuff the republicans are doing is terrible in it's own rights, saying "don't care, release the Epstein files" seems to be downplaying the situation.

I am open to being taught like a five year old, how continued focus on the Epstein files is a good progressive strategy.

[–] nyctre@lemmy.world 9 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Well, even if trump himself can weather that storm, the rest of the powerful people in there might not. Either that or it's just a distraction.

[–] tomiant@piefed.social 2 points 3 days ago

There are always new fascists to replenish the ranks until the war is won. In a sense, ironically, it's social darwinism. "The last guy couldn't cut it. Are YOU fascist enough to get the job done?", and soon enough they have Mengele running the Department of Health

[–] DrivebyHaiku@lemmy.ca 5 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

Honestly, from most of my experience in dealing with fox news poisoned people who are not total wastes irl : pedophillia is an actual hard line. Most of them have this fantasy of if they found a child predator that they would beat their face in. It is the act inexcusable.

They also are quite fond of the language of conspiracy theories and just the implication has gotten some of them to start thinking.

Will actual hard proof and just hearsay of not just Trump but a number of his people hit some of them like a truck? Yes. Will it sway every Republican? No. But considering how much of their power is based off the Evengelical idea that they are morally on high I would expect a shockwave. His support is already diminishing but add in the firey rage of having a known pedo in that holy of holy offices valued so intensely by the American-supremacists of the crowd and some frozen gears will start moving and every little bit helps.

[–] LegoBrickOnFire@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

Thank you for your assessement

[–] chaogomu@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Here's the thing, I don't think Trump can weather this storm.

What he can do, is weather the doubt. But as soon as that doubt vanishes, he and a bunch of his associates will lose support from all but the most rabid of MAGA, and that's not enough support to remain in office.

[–] tomiant@piefed.social 2 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

We need to plan ahead. He is going to be gone at some point, and so bless the lord may that day come soon, and we need to prepare for what they've got in store then, because they are most certainly aware and have contingency plan upon contingency plan. No doubt they already have a candidate that they will push through their propaganda network, and don't worry, the MAGA crowd will vote for him, because they have nowhere else to turn to.

[–] theneverfox@pawb.social 3 points 3 days ago

It's a good strategy because you have to push where they're weak. Where they have no response

They don't have a reasonable sounding excuse, and most of the country wants the files released. Every time it gets brought up, they look both weak and guilty

A lot of MAGA just wants to be on the winning team. It's stupid, but making them look weak chips at their base

[–] tomiant@piefed.social 2 points 3 days ago

Can you IMAGINE the fucking spin they'd put on anything coming out of an actual release of the files? They will grind that shit down and feed their millions of minions the Party Line and then Trump will take a shit on the floor of the UN and everyone will move on. Fascism is coming, no files are going to change that. It's actually kind of the cause it's coming.
