Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Tuesday’s results leave Republicans reeling as Democrats consolidated power in governors’ offices, state courts, attorney general seats, and city halls, reshaping political dynamics in three key states ahead of the midterms and the 2028 election. The outcome also represents a major defeat for President Donald Trump, who worked frantically to rally support for Republicans and even issued threats in an attempt to defeat Mamdani.

That's one step closer to releasing the proof that the President of the United States of America is a pedophile.

[–] Skyrmir@lemmy.world 40 points 4 months ago

We know he's a pedo. What we want is the list of his coconspirators so they can all be prosecuted.

[–] JcbAzPx@lemmy.world 27 points 4 months ago

Not just a pedophile. He was a fundamental cog in the trafficking of children.

[–] Rekorse@sh.itjust.works 17 points 4 months ago

There's already proof, its disgusting to read too. People should be posting the transcripts of his victims testimony.

Hope is dangerous

'Murica has let me down too many times before

And the real problem is the Tangerine Toddler fomenting riots so that he can declare martial law, suspend all elections and declare himself as Supreme Leader

Hope is the unbreakable human spirit manifested. It is not dangerous. The fascists are dangerous whether we have hope or not.

[–] spongebue@lemmy.world 21 points 4 months ago (2 children)

Hope is what inspires resistance. Without it, why bother trying?

Hope is dangerous, but only for the Fascists.

You're not wrong. It's uplifting news, but it's a turning point at best. The USA really need to keep that momentum going. There is still a long road ahead.

Who gives a fuck if Donnie tantrums. He was going to tantrum anyway so enjoy the win and keep the momentum going. They expect us not to fight back and we just did.

We have our first Sikh Mayor in Connecticut! Many Red towns flipped blue, some for the first time in 70 years!

[–] Bluewing@lemmy.world 46 points 4 months ago (3 children)

That's nice. Now govern them in a way to KEEP them blue......

That's the devil in the details.

I hope this helps the fight against fascism. It certainly can't hurt. I imagine the Nazis will now declare martial law or send troops into NYC

[–] Lushed_Lungfish@lemmy.ca 51 points 4 months ago (2 children)

Who wants to lay odds that the orange Russian cum rag is about to scream about deploying troops to "quell dangerous and violent domestic terrorism"?

[–] theneverfox@pawb.social 10 points 4 months ago

They're strong to the weak and weak to the strong

This was a huge show of strength. This is going to make the infighting absolutely explode, they'll be busy for a while

I’m not convinced the Republicans actually took this seriously, which has me more frightened.
