Don't forget that EA is saddled with 20 billion dollars of debt and it's board is filled with vultures. As far I can see, EA is going to be gutted and sold for parts. All this talk of creative control is bullshit considering, they are banking on 'AI' to cut costs, which is not exactly considered to be creative. Also, I am pretty certain this bet is going to fail hard.

Yeah, EA is completely fucked.

Yea, that's my opinion

EA is about to be destroyed... But it's been a shell for 15 years, so I'm not worried

Fuck EA! That is all. Really, that's all anyone needs to say.

How does a company exercise "creative control" when there is no discernable creativity to be seen?

[–] alessandro@lemmy.ca 2 points 4 months ago

They fire the developer who says "2+2=4" and hire the one who says "2+2=5"... then the hired developer is absolutely free to say his/her "5" anytime they want until EA doesn't roll a new formula. (they is fire&hire again)

That's just from all the success of the control.

I was actively avoiding EA for make years before this. Let's just say this didn't help. Imma grab some popcorn though.

Well that's unfortunate news. I could think of nothing greater than the EA C-suite never making a decision in the industry ever again.
