The folks who talk the toughest about what they're going to do to Nazis are the same ones who squeal and climb the curtains when they hear the word "Tankie".
It's all a fucking Inglorious Bastards style fantasy. Beating fascists to death with a Louisville Slugger. Blowing Hitler up with dynamite in the middle of a French Jew's theater. Carving swastikas into the heads of turncoats. The kinds of people who would actually do this? They don't exist in American politics. Not in any kind of position of power, anyway.

The fantasy of destroying fascism is just that, a fantasy. The reality was by the time World War II hit the US was already a fascist state itself. I would definitely argue that even our founding fathers were proto-fascists as well.
Fascism is actually a descendent ideology from settler-colonialism, the Nazis were inspired by the US.
For sure, Hitler admired how we committed genocide against the Native Americans and modeled the final solution after it.

That however, assumes that said politicians, ceos, and billionaires can hire enough security to protect themselves from the masses of rather unstable armed citizens in this country that are about to run out of food.

In the digital age, it might be easier to destroy records. The Secret Service destroyed their records after January 6th.
There was some other news today about the Trump administration deleting a public facing record, but I think that is bit of a separate issue. This is more about rewriting history on public-facing websites, not destroying internal records.
