Rule 1: Be Civil, Not SinisterTreat others like fellow employees, not enemies in the breakroom.

  • No harassment, dogpiling, or brigading
  • No bigotry (transphobia, racism, sexism, etc.)
  • Respect people’s time and space. We’re here to laugh, not to loathe

This is almost 100% a sora2 video. Check out her fingers and the way she practically decides to turn around and fall mid sentence.

There's a box with 2 swoops and no arrows. Arrows are placed randomly on the boxes so they show to the camera. Can't find the word "Amazon" on any of the boxes. Left box fades off to the left (which could just be artifacting I guess.)

The railings are also weird in a way that just doesn’t really happen, plus the bottom rail of the one for the stairs does a weird curvy thing. So many little things that aren’t obvious if you aren’t looking for them but once you’re reminded to check it’s hard not to see it.

I saw a video of a possum jumping and the only major tell was that the numbers for the video time at the top made no sense. An 11 was confusing itself for a 1J and it was clear that those weren’t “real” numbers.

Crazy how believable these are. Best meme generator

[–] miss_demeanour@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 5 days ago (1 children)

I ran it through 7 different online detectors and they all said no. Do you have one that says yes, or are you the lemmy authenticator?

[–] BananaIsABerry@lemmy.zip 5 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Oh sorry thought we were on the same side here. Didn't realize you were an ass.

Here's a couple hot off the press for ya.

Old lady 1

Old lady 2

[–] Stamets@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Cool it on calling them an ass, please. Just because they may have been snarky doesn't mean that you should escalate it.

[–] BananaIsABerry@lemmy.zip 1 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Why do they get to be rude but I do not?

[–] Stamets@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 4 days ago (1 children)

As I said, they were being snarky. You were actively insulting them. You escalated it.

[–] BananaIsABerry@lemmy.zip 5 points 4 days ago (2 children)

I hardly think my response was anywhere near escalation. I responded in good faith and was immediately insulted for it.

Considering I felt insulted, why are you the arbiter of what is and isn't an insult? The M next to your name?

[–] Stamets@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (1 children)

Yes, the M next to my name does make me the arbiter of what is and is it an insult when it comes to dealing with the rules. You were also not insulted. You were questioned. There is a significant difference.

The other user had responded to you in such a way that could be construed as rude. You actively insulted them and called them something specific. That is what we call an escalation.

I'm not continuing this. You've been informed of the situation and up to you on how you want to deal with it.

[–] nomy@lemmy.zip 1 points 4 days ago

Oh great now you're going to stir up drama here too.

[–] akilou@sh.itjust.works 40 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Six is not a lot of hours for boxes to be on a porch. If you're at work, you could easily be away for 10 hours or more.

[–] FlexibleToast@lemmy.world 17 points 5 days ago

Depends on the neighborhood. Six hours in my neighborhood without porch pirates taking them would be some kind of record.

[–] FancyPantsFIRE@lemmy.world 29 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Meanwhile I doubt I’d notice if my neighbors had dead bodies on their porches given how little attention I pay.

[–] if_only@sh.itjust.works 7 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Especially this time of year

[–] FancyPantsFIRE@lemmy.world 5 points 5 days ago (1 children)

“Wow, they even nailed the decomposing smell, that’s dedication!”

[–] RickyRigatoni@retrolemmy.com 1 points 4 days ago

Didn't that actually happen multiple times?

[–] TheAsianDonKnots@lemmy.zip 22 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (1 children)

It’s weird to get this angry after six hours when a normal working shift is around 8-9 hours. If I was home and someone was banging on my door and screaming like that, they get to meet Mr Mossberg. I’ll bet she’d never come back, but she would see this video projected onto my house during Halloween every year. Yes, I’m that petty.

[–] Uiop@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Who is Mr Mossberg? Your alter ego?

[–] grahamja@reddthat.com 16 points 5 days ago

It must be so sad to be in charge of a HOA. Your whole life is getting upset over something that isn't even a side note for anyone else.

[–] sefra1@lemmy.zip 14 points 5 days ago (2 children)

As a non-american, there are many things that are a cultural shock to me. First it's the fact that in America they just leave the packages on the floor for anyone to take. Second is that whole "community" thing where neighbours feel entitled to dictate how people manage their houses.

[–] lazynooblet@lazysoci.al 8 points 5 days ago (1 children)

The whole "leave packages at the door thing" has made it's way to the UK for all but the main post office. It was used in COVID as a way of keeping distance but now it's just for efficiency and I hate it.

[–] sefra1@lemmy.zip 4 points 5 days ago (3 children)

Who's responsable if someone steals it?

[–] Zexks@lemmy.world 4 points 5 days ago

Theres an entire section of youtube devoted to fucking with people who steal packages. How have you not seen it yet for decades now.

[–] Pyr_Pressure@lemmy.ca 4 points 5 days ago

Hasn't happened to me yet so I have no idea.

They don't even ring the door bell most of the time, they just let their Amazon email notification tell you it's delivered which I don't even notice for awhile.

[–] Rooster326@programming.dev 1 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (2 children)

The shipper will have proof they delivered it - they take pictures these days. Beyond that it is the home owner, and the police.

Though if you report a missing package once, or twice, a year. The retailer will often just send your order again for customer support.

[–] Uiop@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 5 days ago (1 children)

So We could just get things for free, hmm?

[–] Rooster326@programming.dev 2 points 4 days ago

You can always try.

[–] sefra1@lemmy.zip 1 points 5 days ago

Damn, that sucks, I wouldn't be able to buy anything online, at least not anything expensive, the risk is too great.

[–] Rooster326@programming.dev 2 points 5 days ago (1 children)

How do you get your packages if you aren't home?

My neighborhood is safe enough to leave the front door wide open for days. Literally had to do this during construction. No issues. Packages on the porch are beyond a non-issue.

[–] sefra1@lemmy.zip 2 points 5 days ago (1 children)

They try again next day, then leave it in the nearest pickup point where I can pickup my package by showing them the code and sometimes they ask for my ID.

[–] Rooster326@programming.dev 1 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (1 children)

So every single package is hand delivered? That's crazy to me.

That is a special service here usually requiring a signature. They are uncommon.

I worked in logistics. I am not exaggerating when I say you have seconds per package on your route, and no I don't just mean Amazon. Waiting 2 minutes at every door to wait for someone to answer would mean we'd need 5-10x the staffing.

How does that even work? 95% of your customers are going to be at they're own job not sitting at home.

When I worked for USPS the number ~8 seconds per mailbox. Not an exaggeration.

[–] sefra1@lemmy.zip 2 points 4 days ago

So every single package is hand delivered? That's crazy to me.

In theory yes, in practice they often pretend I'm not home (twice) and then make me pick it up from the pickup point. But big packages always get hand delivered because pickup points don't accept them.

That's why I send them to a company address. They don't so this with businesses.

How does that even work? 95% of your customers are going to be at they're own job not sitting at home.

Usually if you're working you send it to your workplace, if that's not an option you pick it up on the pickup point.

[–] renrenPDX@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 5 days ago

Of all things to choose to get worked up over.

[–] Noite_Etion@lemmy.world 11 points 5 days ago

Pretty rude to come over and dump a big piece of shit at your front steps...

Another vote for a "better every loop" community. I can't stop watching it.
