Holy shit this was a chaotic chapter! It feels like 2-3 crammed into one with all the characters we're following. I'm literally going 
with all the connections.
The parallels between Teach and Shanks escaping is interesting. They're born from the same place with completely different heritage and subsequent upbringings, it implies they're more foils than Luffy/Blackbeard
Also I don't mind posting on Sundays
Garp seems to be getting some crucial character development. I wrote this fanfic last week:
How Garp should die
Koby should be the one to kill Garp in a future battle over marijoa. After the fight:
Koby(furious): GARP SENSEI! I OWE YOU EVERYTHING! WHY COULDN'T YOU JUST STOP FIGHTING FOR THOSE MONSTERS, EVEN AFTER ALL THE HORRIBLE THINGS THAT WERE REVEALED ABOUT THE CELESTIAL DRAGONS?!
Garp(dying): Cough, cough... Shut up! You think I didn't know all that already? You can't make an old dog change his ways!
Koby: W-what are you talking about?
Garp(whispering): The truth is, I had my chance at God valley. My brave son took the chance to remain human, but I was too much of a coward to do the same... It was then, that I became one of them... One of... the monsters (transforms)
Narrator: Monkey D. Garp, Dog-Dog fruit model bootlick-terrier, secret God's Knights pet
Garp: I'm already dead... inside
Koby: Nani?
Garp: Don't act surprised, I've always been nothing more than the governments dog! You see that cap? I wear it to remind me of my shame... (coughs blood) Ever since God Valley, all I wanted was to train marines until I train someone strong enough to stop me from doing the dirty work of those disgusting tenryuubito... No pirate ever could. Finally, someone stepped up to the job!
Koby(biting his lip):...
Garp: I don't ask for forgiveness, because I don't deserve it. But I'm proud of you boy! Thank you for finally setting me free!
Koby(crying): G-Garp sensei!
